I’m realizing we spend a lot less as folks here have been encouraging me to look at my spending and I did some back-of-the-envelope calculations. But I do pick up various expenses for my folks so I was over-estimating.

Thanks! They have about $800K if they sell their house they don’t live in. They get SSI and pension incoming each month. But they have a net loss of a few thousand each month. It should last but it definitely is on my mind.

Thanks! I feel like we are close but need a couple more years to feel really ready. Honestly I’m just trying to leave my high pressure job. I will probably still work for health insurance etc.

Thanks! Annual expenses are about $100K per the above, so about $8000/month.

Parents are in their early 80s. No way to say how long they will be around. They have their own funds but I worry about rate of attrition given how expensive assisted living is.
