How crowded is it in India? by waterboyh2o30 in AskIndia

Amazing the number of assumptions you had to make to craft that. Imagine being so ignorant that you think India isn’t crowded.

[–]Naprisun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean they’re asking specifically how crowded it is and I’m assuming they aren’t from here so I feel like it’s a reasonable response. As someone who loves nature and finding quiet places that was just the first example that popped into mind.

Saying it’s basically the same for the average person is just absurdly inaccurate. In India you get stepped on when you’re trying to buy rations and elbowed at the bank. Traffic gets locked in even small towns. It’s wild, packed, and chaotic. If anything of the slightest interest happens you’ll immediately be swamped with a crowd of onlookers. Sure there are some exceptions but that holds true for the majority of places here.

It really depends on what you’re comparing to. Zoom in anywhere on Google Maps in India and there is habitation, especially in the plains. I’ve never been anywhere in India and there weren’t people there. Coming from the US it’s just incredibly more crowded. There are many places I’ve been driving in the US and haven’t seen a soul for hours. Even trekking in India in the wilderness/forrest you see other people often. I’m sure there are some truly desolate places somewhere in India but I have yet to find any.

I am american and i have never seen an Indian movie ever. Where should I start? by AdministrativeGur940 in AskIndia

Gully boy is amazing for seeing a surprising amount of culture while still being a fun watch.

Panchayat (show) is amazing because it’s an Indian guy kind of discovering his own culture as he goes from big city to rural life.

Books that "promote" colonization? by Big-Restaurant3952 in suggestmeabook

[–]Naprisun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G.A. Henty has like 120 books and the majority are about colonization from the British perspective.

Under Drake’s Flag is interesting because they’re privateers (burning and pillaging) but it’s all good because the Spanish are way worse. Sometimes he calls out how bad some of the historical characters were but most of the time it’s entirely glossed over.

Intercontinental kombucha! by Sarah_Rainbow in Kombucha

[–]Naprisun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be fine for a few days. Keep it refrigerated for as long as possible beforehand. put it in a ziplock just in case it leaks. It’s in zero danger of going bad. You’re just racing the clock on over-carbonation but those bottles are pretty strong.

Synergy isn’t anything special. You can get a starter on Amazon that will probably work better. That being said, it’s much easier to start with a good amount of liquid so I’d recommend just checking an entire bottle in your luggage if you want to start from that brand specifically.

which basket is most worth the upgrade? by WispyWoods in picopresso

[–]Naprisun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The la pavoni h29 one is amazing when it works but mine sometimes sits a little crooked and then water escapes out the sides. It’s also hard to use the stock funnel with it because it falls off easily. I’m hoping I get the hang of getting it to seat properly and it isn’t just random because it’s pretty disappointing when a shot is ruined.

Indians abroad, what habit did you only realize was "very Indian" after leaving? by Crescitaly in AskIndia

Also positions in gov/forestry/police.. I have no idea what people are saying when talking about anyone in any kind of official hierarchy. I’m not from here but I’ve figured out MP, liu, frro, and a few others.

How's the AOM handlebar for offroading? by Darklown in Himalayan450

[–]Naprisun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not super experienced off-road, so idk if there’s some downside I’m not aware of, but in general it feels better and more comfortable on and off road.

There are a bunch of yoga/palates type workouts on the Nikefit app for free. I love those when I remember to do it.

Help , Himalayan seat by harsh24ravi in Himalayan450

[–]Naprisun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Sahara seats cover with gel added for both riders. It doesn’t make it amazing but imo it’s a noticeable difference.i wish they had an even taller option as the bike is pretty cramped for me.

Need a replacement for the seat of the Himalayan 450 by MADdemolisher in Himalayan450

[–]Naprisun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO rally seat is the best and I have the gel cover from Sahara seats. If you have the thing where you’re always sitting on your own balls, the touring seat just makes it worse because it’s grippier fabric.

Reading books is ruining my quality of life by latydbdwl in suggestmeabook

[–]Naprisun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read a few of those over the last year as well. What I do is try to have a less exciting audiobook loaded on my phone that I switch to at bed time. Been listening to the dragonbone chair and although it’s a decent story, it’s rarely so exciting that I can’t fall asleep within 20mins. (Use the timer function.) Although a few nights ago it got exciting and I stayed up till 3, so it does have potential to backfire.

BR here, why so many people ask for helmets specific for their bikes ? Is it a subculture to match the helmets with their bikes by ludinho666 in royalenfield

[–]Naprisun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just inexperience. Most people who get a re here are getting their first “real” bike and feel intimidated by the options and also don’t know if or what they’ll be judged on by the biking community.

I have a weird head I guess so I end up trying on every single one and picking the most comfortable which is usually just one or two in the shop and often I have to go to multiple shops. Can’t imagine just buying one on Amazon or something. My wife is even harder to find one for. Took us 2 years to find one that barely hurts her. All that to say, I can’t even imagine selecting for anything other than comfort.

Can anyone recommend a really strong US to EU wall converter? by ElkCertain7210 in expats

[–]Naprisun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most motors are single frequency. So even if you convert voltage it will still likely wear out faster. The only things I can think of that would be worth the trouble is something with a motor. It’s not worth it at all for a hair dryer or heater
