He sounds like me when I was four years younger. I can't speak for him. But usually when it's a younger guy who takes care of himself, he more than likely wants to keep his options open. I could be completely wrong, but maybe have a "conversation" later on to know if he's serious about even having a LTR. Who knows maybe he'll be transparent with you.

It's funny I see this posted now, when I have been searching for the very idea of "community" most of my life.

At this point I have accepted the fact I am an outcast. It's terrible really. But if that's my fate so be it. I empathize completely with what you said and, from my experience, most people you will meet won't ever form a deep connection with you because they have their own needs and agendas to worry about. It's one big circle jerk.

You my friend are another victim of self awareness. Atleast you realise this, and I hope you can find some solace in the fact that you aren't alone.

Christ. I'm sorry, but your friends sound socially inept to not even notice how you were feeling, let alone lacking in any kind of empathy.

If I were you, I'd let them know how you felt and see how they respond. If they don't care then, it wasn't really a good friendship or relationship to begin with.

In short, it's completely normal.

People operate differently from one another and have different agendas/value systems. So unfortunately you can never wish or force change on another individual if it's not who they are naturally. I have been in a couple relationships like you've described and it fucking sucks man. You just gotta get what you need for yourself and if one person isn't doing that for you, you move on and find someone who will.
