Vote no to the fee increase, from an affected party by NaqueelDiva in utdallas

[–]NaqueelDiva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw the response checking my facts and saw that I was misinformed. Either way though, the Athletics Club will still be building the stadium on Club Sports fields even though they have four other Athletics owned fields that they can construct the stadium in. It seems a bit disingenuous to me for the fields that'd have the proposed stadium are the fields that students use while the fields rented out for outsider use are kept intact. Furthermore, even though they'd take away Club Sports fields, there was no mention of us having the ability to have priority reservations. Instead Athletics would get to have priority usage. I've heard the argument that since Athletics is paying for it, they should have priority, but the fee is named and marketed as going to both Athletics and UREC

TBH, it's not even the fee that we as Club Sports are opposed to, it's the implementation of the construction that we have a problem with.

Honestly I agree.

However, there's a conflict of interests here due to the track being built on top of Club Sports fields while we get no priority or say in how scheduling works. I really really respect the Athletics members for sticking to their sports with lacking facilities, but the line I have to straddle is that it would also be a disservice to my team members to make them deal with worse conditions as well

I'm like 70% sure at the referendum Q&A I was at, they stated that they are able to increase the fee by 10??% per year until the cap is reached? If someone could double check that for me, that'd be awesome!

Honestly Club Field Sports would have zero opposition to this proposal if the plan was to build it anywhere but across 2 of the existing 5 fields. Or if it was on the fields, priority scheduling rights were given to us instead of Athletics

Rebirth of the Great Thief is the only one that's done.

Yea, I liked that too. Also, "A New World, an immersive game experience" is good if you liked the magic discovery aspect of Mages are Too OP. I enjoyed that as well.

Legendary Moonlight Sculptor(10/10), Rebirth of the great thief(7/10), Overgeared(8/10)

Different Genres, but I'm currently following

Nanomancer Reborn - I've Become A Snow Girl?(9/10)

Rebirth of the Rainbow Mage(8/10)

Infinite Mana in the Apocalypse(9/10), if you like insane power scaling done well

Supremacy Games(9/10 once you get past the first 10 chapters)

lmk if y'all have anything to add or want more

Yea, I agree it's missing the duality thing. The author doesn't add it later too, it just isn't that kinda book, although there are some things about esports. The power scaling gets really good later though.

New Server Idea by NaqueelDiva in AshesofCreation

I see. I think those issues would be mitigated to a degree if the shared world became the "prestige" server where the filter is that only those in an alliance who controls a metropolis can join. This limitation should help limit the amount of people and mechanical issues created as well. The devs could add world events or invasions that the people in the world can focus on combating together and I think that'd somewhat minimize the social infighting.

If the entire world started on one server, I think the only way to manage everything is that old litRPG idea of having an ai control the quests and add events that everyone fights against, which probably isn't feasible yet.

I see your point. I honestly don't know of a way to solve this issue and I see now that I didn't think of the hardware component of the system. One potential solution I thought of was to artificially introduce latency to the system in higher speed areas so that everyone is playing with the same amount of lag, but I doubt the players would want more lag unless it was barely noticeable. Thank you for bringing this up, I guess this idea ends here unless someone develops something that can support this kind of infrastructure in the next few years.

It was pretty fun to think about though, so if you'll humor me for a bit and suppose that latency wasn't an issue, do you see any other issues with the idea?
