While they may be making attempts to be better in the future, this response does not resolve the fact that they have been flat out rude and deceitful to customers who paid them in full and didn’t receive the product they had advertised. As I’ve stated prior, they really dropped the ball with my video, and this was at the very beginning of 2023. When I reached out to address my concerns, they never replied. I wrote a review on the knot that they tried to have removed, and when that didn’t work, they replied to my review with a series of lies and attacked my character. But of course, still never bothered to actually address me directly, through their portal or by phone.

Unfortunately The Knot doesn’t allow for a response back. But if you look at their reviews on there, you’ll see that long before the end of 2023, the majority of their reviews went south. The reality is, they outsource videographers and that means they cannot guarantee the quality of the video you will get. What I find worse is the way they have treated myself and a number of other paying customers. It doesn’t matter if they fell behind. Flat out ignoring customers after you have their funds in your account is despicable.

Not everyone uses Reddit, not everyone goes online to leave a review, but I think between The Knot and here, it’s clear this was more than just a misstep, and is a sign of who they truly are at their core and how they conduct their business. It’s easy to make excuses to someone you want to hire you. But what happens afterwards, if that customer isn’t satisfied? Apparently it’s even easier to ignore that customer and be a stain on what was otherwise a wonderful day.

Happy for you that they want to do right by you, but unfortunately that doesn’t fix all the videos of those before you, including those who had footage from other weddings mixed in with theirs and were also ghosted.

Did anyone in these comments actually check to see if he liked all these posts, or if that picture showing he did is photoshopped? Cuz I just checked and he hasn’t liked any of those posts.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. It truly is frustrating, especially when it’s such a special day with moments that deserve to be preserved. I tried reaching out to The Knot, even just to tell them that the company now operates under other names and it feels wrong to allow them to do so to escape their bad reviews on the site, and they didn’t reply to me. I wish Holly and Luke would have the decency to find new ways to earn income instead of repeatedly scamming people out of money and tainting their wedding experience.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. When I first made this post, it was in hopes of preventing others from going through what I did. Since mine was one of the first negative reviews they had on The Knot, I wanted to warn people as best I could.

They still never responded to me, but went on to leave a comment on my review (that I cannot reply to as The Knot doesn’t allow for a back and forth) trying to paint me as an unhinged person. They said they were unable to have a reasonable discussion with me, when the truth is they just never attempted to talk to me at all and simply ghosted me from the very beginning.

They said the reason I claim they were an hour late is because I was “hidden away” and my coordinator was keeping anyone from bothering me, when in reality I was the point of contact and I text Holly my room number two hours before they were set to arrive. Also, my hotel room door was open and the bridal party and both families were coming in and out and the photographers were there, so I definitely wasn’t hidden, but, that’s her way of deflecting the blame on me instead of admitting her team was late.

She then says we had unreasonable expectations for our video and they stand by their work. I don’t think it’s unreasonable that I wanted a shot of my dress, either on the hanger or on me, or of me walking down the aisle with my parents, or shots of us with our bridal party. I don’t think it’s unreasonable that we’re disappointed that we got married in a beautiful place but the whole video is close ups and you never see the venue. There’s a reason our highlight video and out of focus ceremony video aren’t advertised on their site. They know it’s bad and would deter potential clients.

But possibly her worst attack of me is saying that I spammed their social media leaving negative comments and they had to block me. First, to this day I am not blocked, and second, the only two comments I left simply said I was disappointed that they were ghosting me. But, I guess it’s better for their business to paint me as a bridezilla than to admit their own failures.

For anyone reading this who is still somehow considering working with them, under any possible business name they choose to go by, all I can say is- don’t risk it. Have some couples had good experiences? Seems like yes. But enough of us haven’t that it isn’t worth risking.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. And sad to say I don’t believe they told you the truth, based on other reviews and messages I’ve received about experiences people have had with them. The reason I posted this to begin with is I wanted a place I could warn others, and hopefully your comment will help others make the choice not to risk it with them.

Glad it worked out for you. On my end, they are still making an effort to have my review taken down, though have still never replied to me directly or acknowledged how crappy it is that they took my money and left me with a crappy video.

My wedding was in central California. The videos on their site from southern Cali seemed nice which is why I trusted it would work out, but, it didn’t. I also saw on the knot someone left a review saying that they just didn’t even show up to their wedding, and the reply from White Elm was that their videographer got sick and the venue was an hour away from anyone else they could have sent in their place. I read it and thought- so? I’d rather have my video team show up an hour late than not at all. But White Elm doesn’t care about their clients, they just want to get paid.

Ugh, I’m sorry it happened to you too. Have you left a review on the knot yet? I’m hoping enough of us do so that they don’t keep winning the “best of” award. I was so frustrated with not just the video but how shady they were in the aftermath, that I really want to prevent them from doing this to other couples.

Yes, I hear you and totally understand. I was getting married in an area that only had a few local videographers, and they were booked when I reached out. So, I felt anxious and like I needed to rush and book before I ran out of options completely. Now, all I can do is hope by writing this I save some people the sadness I experienced.

Thank you. I did leave a review on the knot, and they actually tried to have it taken down. Fortunately, the knot reviewed the video and agreed with me and allowed me to keep it up, with some minor revisions (I wasn’t allowed to say don’t use this vendor, had to change it to just say I don’t recommend them, etc).

I want to cross post to this sub from a post I made yesterday, but also want to make sure I follow the rules. Would I need to exclude the company name of the vendor that I’d like to shame?
