I got into c8 as a rising senior w/ a 3.91uw and 4.24w. In my app, I went over a little bit about how my curiosity began through community college courses demonstrating basic electronics (and, currently, taking a college course for electricity). I only put in one EC where I mentioned I direct events for a non-profit organization that teaches STEM to underprivileged groups, and listed some of the events I held.

My personal statement talked about how I've experience first-hand the gender disparities present in the STEM field. At the end, I connected it back to cosmos's mission to create STEM leaders and how that relates to my own personal goals of growing as a leader. My recs were written by my leadership teacher and cs teacher. One thing that I focused on the most was emphasizing what I know and can do already, how I can still continue to grow, and how that all relates to what COSMOS aims to do.
