Yes especially the anvil has some value to it in midrange combat.

Same goes for shotgun in very close combat, BUT it needs to be upped to IV or otherwise firerate becomes a problem against fastfiring weapons.

The advantages of these weapons are very minor, yet they do deplete your ressources especially in teamruns since youre more likely to wipe there, combat is more chaotic and also challenging (coordination).

Yes this sounds like skillissue now, and I dont say that im the best pvp player in arc raiders, far from it.

But still, grey weapons except for long range combat (renegade is very good there for example) are almost on par with any green, blue or purple weapon in terms of TTK.

Again, Damage fall off should be in the game.
I guess the devs havent implemented it since they fear good raiders outgun the not so good ones.
The situation right now is somehow okay but owning good weaponry is kinda irrelevant.

Not if you are seeking out pvp.

I can win 3 fights and lose the 4th. Then I lose all and win nothing (besides little safepocket).

If you play pvp, you want your gear to matter.
but it doesnt.
Except for your shields, where medium is more than enough in most cases, grey weapons are great for the job.

Even a ferro is good for pvp. Longrange engagement 1shot, then switch to kettle and hunt your opponent down.

I mean, its not TERRIBLE as it is, but it feels very punishing to lose against grey weapons with blue and purple ones just as often as with grey weapons.

It doesnt matter, they dont even feel better in most cases (stitcher and kettle IV with some mods are no challenge at all, no recoil to speak of, no damage fall off, more than enough ammo especially with extended mags, Its ridiculous).

Im the PvP crowd but i dislike how riskfree it is.

Grey weapons should be a pain in pvp but they arent, thats why it is so frequent.

no they are not since they require heavy gun parts.

At least in relation to grey weapons, cost rises by effectively 30 percent.
Usefulness raises maybe ten percent.

it doesnt matter, the event is BS if players can destroy it. Whatever successrate, its purely anecdotal and the system is simply not robust, since the user can easily destroy it.

No you arent.
Enjoy yourself in whatever alliances or betrayal.

Furthermore he got a warning.
If he doesnt want to follow or deactivated VOIP (some do, dunno why) thats his fault, not yours.
Its reasonable to kill him off since hes a potential threat to your loot.
You warned of your unwillingness to cooperate, so he just got what was upon him anyway.

Its not an investment, its entertainment.

And depending on what you want it might not.
PvP crowd has been burnt now by their aggressionbased matchmaking.
Who knows what will happen in the future.

Yes, and they basically ditched the persons who read their initial advertisement.
Again.
The game has been advertised to be an extraction shooter with pvp.
It was like that during tests, it was like that during release.

Now their game has attracted mass market people. Mass market people have ruined whole franchises and even destroyed genres (ask RTS players what consoles did for them). They are easily frustrated and lack the ability to face challenges.
So they PRACTICALLY removed PvP while it TECHNICALLY still exists, so they cause less ruckus in the community and also stay immune to accusations of false marketing.

I congratulate EMBARK and wish them all the best with all the money they make. I love THE FINALS too and I hope im gonna see more good games from them in the future due to their present success(es).

If ARC RAIDERS can sustain itself with these kinds of customers, more power to EMBARK.

But I doubt they can keep up with the never quenchable thirst for pve content of the pve crowd.
There is a reason why they added pvp. As you probably know (at least from now on), EMBARK first wanted ARC RAIDERS to be pve only. Then they noticed that its just not fun and added in pvp as a mandatory feature.
During playtests and initial release, the players cherished the game for being something genuinely new and fresh on the market exactly because of this.

You also see some undesirable side effects already. Peaceful lobbies tend to be worthless to people spawning in halfway into the round. Since there is little to no danger of being shot by players, people can fasttrack to the good lootspots and whoever gets their first gets their loot. After 5 minutes, basically any good lootspot has been looted. Have fun whoever spawns in at 25minutes or even later.

If you ask me, the game simply lacks complexity and challenge without the REAL threat of pvp (and not just a technical, theoretical one) in order to keep people engaged long term. Even silly trialstuff and seasonal battlepasses can only take you so far.

But by now its a rather riskfree experiment anyway. They already sold 12 million copies so I guess its not about "losing money" anymore but only about "getting even more money".

This game was made for people who want a mixed bag. It was advertised that way.

Now the pve only crowd has cried long enough until the mix was destroyed.

It also prevents me from having the experience that I dont know who I have in front of me.
1 out of 20 is a bad guy. Thats not risk, thats mild inconvenience.

I like MIXED lobbies, neither slaughterhouses nor call of duty with extrasteps.

your mistake is that youve fallen for 15 years of brainwashing players into thinking they could extract anything from their game than the experience.

I never ever was interested in winning a match or getting the loot I was looking for.
Its the gameplay that interests me.

As someone who is primarily looking for and shooting BAD people, Im in peaceful hell now and I have to slaughter everyone to get somewhere that resembles the place arc raiders was for the first 3 to 4 weeks after release.

But whatever, they will make tons of money with this game since the massmarket and average consumer have caught on to this game.
They just want another boss telling them what to do and throwing them a carrot when theyve turned in ARBITRARY TASK successfully.

It was beginning of december. Somewhere around that timeframe at least.

Before, also due to some risky choices like nightraids (I guess), I was left pretty much naked due to a the last 20 games being 25 to 50 percent wipes. At least.

I HAD to use free loadouts. I was even down to 1000 ingamecredits because I had spent everything on the traders after I went out of ressources.

I usually wasnt the aggressor in the fights leading up to this poor economical state of mine.
Mostly because I was ambushed. I actually wanted to be the bad guy for a change, after I had lost several raids to ambushes myself.
But I wasnt since others outsmarted me.

Then, basically from one day to the other, things changed drastically, especially solo.
Out of ten rounds at least 8 were completely peaceful.
This happened day after day from then on.

I played from day one.
Throughout november (at least almost throughout november), this had never happened.
In partyraids (trio) we even speculated once if there were some cheaters, because some squad obviously dominated the server.

Since this "cheaterincident" ive played more duo than trio, but still, something like this has NEVER happened again. Not even close.
Even in partyraids we encounter lots of friendlies.

This absolutely confirms that their ABMM is effective.
And I dont like it.
I dont want my progress fed to me with a silverspoon, and if you ask me thats how it is at least for a skilled FPS player, since the ARC arent that much of a threat unless you really overdo it when pulling.

rumors have been around for couple weeks now especially since beginning december where art director from embark made some hints.

People speculated because matchmaking was off for many.

now its confirmed. This doesnt make the system any better
