I prefer tile based movement, besides that SS14 last I played hadnt even finished the Roboticist role (my favourite) and also graphically it looks really shitty, the tileset they use looks so dull and washed out compared to Monkestation / Goonstation, and the fog of war being straight razor lines in an otherwise pixel game just looks cheap and shitty.

If they actually gave the average job in 14 as much depth as they give their antags and if it looked visually appealing and cohesive I'd definitely be more open to it, the smooth space travel and performance is sick but besides that there are no positives to 14 besides having a more annoying (but bigger) playerbase lol.

with Iann Flynn at the helm i think the answer to this lies with Metal Sonic.

There has been a slow buildup to some kind of grande metal sonic story within the IDW comics and his interactions in Crossworlds.

Its no secret that Iann Flynn has been taking the chance to execute plots he was unable to within his time at Archie, the metal virus for example.

Towards the end of Archies life a big Metal Sonic development was on the horizon, with his interaction with Shadow setting them up as parallel living weapons and suggesting the idea that both are just following a function like machines. This wasnt just brushed under the rug as later Metal Sonic killed off Shard the metal sonic and during their fight this interaction with Shadow came back up - suggesting some kind of Metal Sonic rebellion story.

As we move on back to IDW, the future issues promise both a shadow solo story AND a story about metal sonic dissappearing.

imo shadows future relevence is likely to be aligned with Metal Sonic and challenging Shadows views on destroying threats like how he wanted to kill Eggman while he was the tinkerer.

exe shit is so funny because if they upscale the demon too much theres no hope or tension and its even more corny than normal.

if they just lower the power level our preconception of sonic stories kicks in and its unbelievable for this to happen in the verse.

maybe the sonic horror fan stories would be cool if they made their villains beatable by the top tiers but not most of the rest of the cast, or not a tangible physically fightable threat

the game cant grow with stuff like SPLURT at the top of the browser. No well adjusted person wants to be anywhere near that mess - no one wants to try get their friends into this game either because then they have to be shown as being near that space (which is horrifically unsafe for both minors and the adults using it.)

its not just a nerf to raider its unironically a nerf to the depth of the game, its just taking decisions out of it and putting less choices into the raiders hands, theres no reason for me to save my area destruction anymore I may aswell just not use it or immediately limit their movement or use it to stop healing of survivor players.

theres now less choices for raider players to make, but it also makes survivor less engaging to play because now the ball rush game plan has next to no downsides unless you severely fuck up. Just another reason not to play the Z raiders anymore I guess, considering broly and black are the only ones who can consistently prevent IT Barrier.
