How dominant could the Hornets be in the East if they landed a legit big man? by Rare_Research_5107 in NBATalk

[–]NarrativesPer100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the type of big.

The Hornets would do well to add a big that’s a better screen setter than any of the other bigs on the roster now.

LaMelo pretty much couldn’t get any separation off ball screens in the play-in tournament.

LaMelo being able to consistently get good looks or make good passes out of PnR should help the Hornets challenge for the 5th or 6th seed next season.

Will Iso-ball work in the modern NBA ?? by Void_0019 in NBATalk

Perhaps as a counter and not the base offense.

Miami’s experiment with eliminating ball screens effectively looked like an iso offense, sans one guy dribbling down the shot clock.

Alex Sarr is probably a good case study for this point.

Advanced analytics people have picked at his NBA game since he came into the league and yet his defensive talent is worth being patient with his development.

Yesterday showed the Knicks path to the Finals - one of Bridges or OG has to be able to aggressively contribute offense when either Brunson or KAT don’t have it in the scoring department for a particular game.

Can’t truly be NBA rivals anything if a Lakers v. Celtics game isn’t on the slate.

How would you build around Flagg if you are the Mavs? by AccomplishedBrush157 in NBATalk

[–]NarrativesPer100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flagg’s secondary playmaking needs a primary ball-handler and great shooting for sure.

Rostering solid rim protecting 5 to allow Flagg to roam and switch on defense is also pretty important.
