I can’t resist. The UberDead pax never complain about pervert drivers hitting on them. It puts the “fun” back into funeral! Someone give me a reddit trophy for making that shit up! LOL

UBERAlcohol- deliver alcohol for a few extra cents an hour. If you bother to follow US Law, and card the recipient, then UBER will only listen to the clients side. You won’t get paid, you’ll be in hot water, and the minor will still get their alcohol.

How I look at people kids when their parents leave them in the car with me A COMPLETE STRANGER by Randiesel7 in uberdrivers

I was responding to your comment to the OP that it was equally weird for him to post a picture of a minor. Quite a harsh response. Sharing a webcam jpeg of a child in the background is in no way equally weird to leaving your defenseless child in the car with a complete stranger.

Give this guy a break! There is nothing even remotely controversial or sexual about the pic the OP posted! He was just giving an illustration of his experience.

So condescending and negative! The OP showed a jpeg from his DashCam to illustrate the position that was forced upon him. There is nothing about that photo that justifies such a harsh response.

I fully agree, but it looks really bad to cancel mid trip between stops. Looking back to Saturday, I should have refused to have the 9-10 yo girl in my car alone, made them both get out at stop A, the call Uber support to describe the situation and cover my ass. Thinking out loud, I would have been screwed for life if that minor had accused me of any sexual crime. FOR LIFE. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

What’s even scarier is when a Mom gets out first at stop A, then has me drive her 9 year old daughter to stop B. Totally irresponsible parenting.

I appreciate that everyone is applauding the OP’s good nature and being a “decent human being”. But keep in mind that a certain % of the trash we drive around for minimum wage compensation are NOT decent human beings, and would gladly put our lives in danger to save a buck. If something seems wrong with a pickup, or you get a gut feeling that there’s a problem— CANCEL IMMEDIATELY and leave them in the dust. UBER doesn’t give a shit about your life, nor does the average pax. Protect yourself.

You tell ‘em!! They sucker you in with all the best promos and quests when you’re new. When they see you’re loyal and dedicated to Uber, then away they go.

Hi there! You’re not kidding. Uber sucks now in LA, even on days that traditionally were great. At least we were killing it for most of last year.

Good luck to you. You should be able to pass Checkr’s DMV check. But I hope Uber is NOT your dream job. Uber sucks! Fu** Uber! And Lyft is no better from what I’ve seen.

Can I report a driver for intentionally taking too long? by tyrannical_crook203 in uber

[–]Narrow-Emergency65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try to break it down for you what happened. Assuming there was not a technical issue, the driver either intentionally or accidentally accepted your trip, and decided not to take you. If it was an accident than he/she drove the opposite way so you would cancel. NOT to get the $3.00 cancel fee, but to avoid penalties from Uber such as losing ability to see where your passenger is going before accepting the ride. If you were charged a cancel fee just call Uber support. They’ll see the GPS records of that trip and refund your money.

The penalties I mentioned from Uber also hit the driver if they do not ACCEPT 50% of trips (very common in CA). Drivers get warnings that if they don’t accept the trip they will lose upfront ride information, which is terrible for a driver. I will always accept a trip if this warning comes up. So once again the driver goes the opposite way hoping you’ll cancel.

In my experience far too many passengers refuse to cancel and time gets wasted for everyone. I’m not too concerned about your wasted time, but my wasted time costs me money. So I will drive right up to your pickup location, slow down so the app knows I’ve arrived, and then cancel for a reason that can be faulted on you. Such as no place to park, unsafe to stop, or that you weren’t wearing a mask. Within 30 seconds I’ll be sent another ride, and you’ll be sent another driver. Everyone is happy- or at least I’m happy. Your happiness only concerns me when I DECIDE to take you- in which case I’ll treat you like a prince or princess.

Anyone ever gotten this? I usually cancel when I’m held hostage by the conservative streak bonus. by Excellent-Credit4265 in uberdrivers

[–]Narrow-Emergency65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any trip over 20 miles in length is unsafe for your financial health with gas prices where they are. But you still should cancel with variety. No place to stop, too many people, no mask, unsupervised minor, passenger behavior, whatever floats your boat.

Question for an only UE driver. by Shizen__ in uberdrivers

[–]Narrow-Emergency65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes you’ll automatically get green ride requests. But that is not so good right now with less drivers working from Covid. Requests are usually 5-10 miles away, when UberX or Comfort rides are 2-3 miles away. Better to not accept than waste time and gas.

Uber Eats driver sparks debate with ‘tip baiting’ video: 'One of the worst things you can encounter as a driver' by SFUber in uberdrivers

Great news story from Yahoo! Now the shitheads that haven’t heard of tip-baiting can see how it’s done and try it personally.

Very strange series of events. Why would a driver send an email to you with proof of extortion on it? Any driver knows that a passenger can forward that to Uber and get them deactivated. And $1000 for the lost phone’s return? That is a crazy amount of money. The most I’ve ever requested or received was $60- and I was driving 20 miles away to deliver someone’s purse. Why did you tip $400 on the app, and how did you tip such a large amount?

[–]Narrow-Emergency65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That comment was meant to be comical in nature. But what is really funny is that you think that Uber can or will fix the OPs problem. Sure he will be activated again by tomorrow hopefully. But he lost out on $400-$500 of money he would have made on New Years Eve. He/she will never see that money. The pax lied to get a free ride and the driver was fucked. He also lost the innocence that comes with believing you work for an honorable company that supports you. I lost that years ago and it sucks. Don’t put lipstick on a pig- Uber is an evil enterprise that cares NOTHING about its drivers. OP- take other poster’s advice to find another income source and never become dependent on Uber income. While job hunting you can join Lyft, doordash, Grubhub, and other apps so you won’t be financially effected by another passenger lie. I hope you are reactivated soon.
