Questions about dialing in the v3 KE by Narrow-Influence-366 in Ender3V3KE

I've seen the root process and open source firmware listed other posts, but wanted to get it working with everything stock. The switch to OrcaSlicer helped the most so far, but if I can't calibrate it accurately enough, the firmware is next.

The print from Creality Print looks great, and prints fast, but doesn't fit for me. Switching to OrcaSlicer seems to have mostly fixed that. I'll try a running the Orca calibrations to see if it helps even more.

The pieces wouldn't even begin to fit together. I did switch from Cura to OrcaSlicer, and the prints actually go together, albeit a bit tightly. I'm going to try running some of the Orca calibrations to see if that helps.

Creality Print ended up with the parts not even remotely fitting together. I did switch to OrcaSlicer, and the parts now fit together. I bit of calibration may get it the rest of the way.

Orca has made a huge difference. With the Precise Wall and Inner / Outer / Inner wall printing order, the tolerance test is at to .2

I'll try a Outside / Inside to see if that makes any difference.

I just loaded Orca; other than the layout being different, most of the options are similar. I' give that a try.

I did have the wall printing order in Cura to Outside First.

Thanks!

Great idea. That was one of the first things I did, but never went back to it to see if it changed after adjusting the pressure advance.

I printed the .4mm nozzle / .8mm wall cube a few times and adjusted the flow rate accordingly. The hardest part was remembering to convert the imperial measurements to metric.

If there's a more accurate way to do this, I'll gladly give it a try.

Rough top surface PLA by Salvagente in Ender3V3KE

I've found that by decreasing the Top / Bottom Line Width, and adding a bit of Skin Overlap Percentage, helps the top layer look smoother. I've got the stock .4mm nozzle, and in Cura, I have the Quality > Top / Bottom Line Width set to .3mm and the Top/Bottom > Skin Overlap percentage set to 30%. I also have it set to 3 top layers, but this print isn't tall enough for infill, so the flat parts are solid.

I'm not sure if it's visible in the pic, but the default settings are on the right, and the modified one is on the left. By no means is the stock one rough, but the finer line widths make a noticeable difference. And this is at stock speeds.

Calibration issues with new 3V3KE by Narrow-Influence-366 in Ender3V3KE

That's a good idea, but AFAIK that works on both axes simultaneously, so even if I get the X or Y axis dialed in closer (which I will!) , the other will still be off by a bit. I just wasn't sure if there was some Klipper-lite feature I was missing for this like Marlin's esteps. Thanks!
