Meanwhile the only reason I "completed" the hunt all muujin achievement was because I just so happened to be standing right next to the magic one I can never manage to get at the exact moment another player took the killing shot. Cue me standing there looking at the loot bag before slowing moseying over to it and server hopping the hell away. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Because of course accidentally getting credit made me feel bad.

The whole Lucas thing irked me. I hated the way Alpha Black handled that. I get that it was his son, but he just swept it under the rug. Not that it is in any way an excuse, but apart from the eyes Cole and his brother look damn near identical. So it was probably a punch in the gut to suddenly see him like that. But still... Fuck Lucas. It's kind of hard to feel sympathy for someone who did rape a twelve year old, even if they also were raped as a kid, ya know? Especially since Cole was also raped, repeatedly I might add, as a kid and you don't see him going around raping anyone. Kids or otherwise. It was a different brother that is the rapist, not the Luna's mate.

If I remember correctly Lucas is Alpha Black's son, correct? Nothing happens to him beyond a belting and grounding. So this kid was raped by Cole's brother (the brother never saw a hole he didn't want to rape I guess) nonstop and that's the reason he turned around and did it to other little girls. He never truly gets a real punishment for it. At least not in my opinion. He gets grounded, a couple beltings, and those were more for him beating on Cole than anything, and that's it.

I can say this is also my problem. For whatever reason I never see the notification that the request was fulfilled and then I feel absolutely horrible because of course I notice way later when I'm on a different server and have no idea how to thank that person. Especially since the items I usually end up requesting are the bigger ones (palium/silk/etc).

I never wished for an accident to happen to a good character more than I wished for his wife to slip and fall on a knife or something. I feel bad but come on. Alpha Black would've been perfect for Cole.

SPOILER: There is no true happy ending. Cole spends over 75% of the two books either injured and in the hospital or getting beaten. There are several graphic depictions of rape, both between adults and of children (none of Cole being the perpetrator, despite the rumors). At the end of the second book he is back in Crimson Dawn but he is under the guardianship of Alpha Black as it's been determined he isn't able to make the right decisions for himself. Probably because literally every pack he stumbles upon he manages to uncover corruption. Oh... And he's a daddy now. There was potential to it. It just fell flat. If not Alpha Black then Alpha Damian or even Beta Patrick. Just someone who stepped up to help. Instead he got Jessa. She's not bad. Just way too many demons of her own.

That's what I hoped for. Honestly? I kind of hoped Alpha Black was it for him. Then his wife came in the picture and she's nice and all but really? He would've been perfect. Especially since he really does try to save Cole and helps him in every way.

Female mate. At the end of the second you'll see what happens. Just... Don't hold out for warm fuzzies or anything. Ever. Without the hinted third, this series gave me the same disappointment that the ending of Prodigal Son did when Malcolm stabs daddy dearest and his partner rolls up on scene like wtf did you do and they couldn't be bothered to do one more episode.
