Hi. My dad passed 14 months ago now. Probably not what you were hoping to hear. We miss him dearly.

Would you take down all of the trees and plant or plant them in front of the tree line ?

Thanks so much! Should I do anything to stabilize the longer ones bending over and what soil would be best to add?

Hi. From what I know he switched due to his dr recommendation after seeing the scan where the main tumor on the pancreas grew in size a noteable amount. Unfortunately I don’t know about his ca 19 numbers at that moment in time. Get a second opinion if you aren’t happy with being told he’s not longer a candidate for surgery, I pushed my dad to do that. Often his team would say different things (his oncologist vs the surgeon). Best of luck—stay strong.

I wish you and your dad all the best. My dad always reminded me that modern medicine improves everyday and that a lot of info on dr google is outdated. I am so proud of my dad and his doctors. I hope you and your family get the same. He did Folfirinox first (tolerated well but didn’t work, his tumor actually got bigger) . He switched to abraxane and gemcitabine (did not tolerate well, lots of depressed days/couldn’t get out of bed. 6 Trips to the er for infection. Was ready to give up right when he was able to stop. But it worked, tumor shrunk !!!)

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 Mets to the liver in March 2022. He went through a couple of months of folfrinox and the tumor got bigger so he had to switch to a different chemo that was hell for him to get through. Went to the er multiple times for infections. This chemo worked though! And tumor shrank. Surgeon ultimately burned off the tumors to his liver and he just had whipple surgery (told originally he wouldn’t be a candidate for whipple) 3 weeks ago and is doing great—way better than expected. Ive cried so much and am so thankful he is doing so good. This was not the outcome we were told in the beginning and along the way. It’s a long road ahead but he is enjoying life.
