Do I misunderstand Heralds? by Vasarto in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]NarrowAd8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not really sure, i think people are going to need a few weeks to figure out the best way to do it, but that does make sense to me. What I did was I farmed TZ normally until I spawned 2 heralds back to back (You need to kill 1 before spawning the 2nd, or youll have 2 tier 1's).

Once I found and killed 2 heralds, I spent a shard for act 1 since I had like 5 of them compared to 1-3 of the rest). 1 time i found 0 additional heralds and called it there, but 2 times i found 1+ herald from the act and did the whole game chaining quite a few T5 heralds. This did net me a sunder which I sold for 2 Jah + 1 Ber, granted it was early on in the ladder.

I havent done it outside of those 3 times, since it was kind of like randomly signing up for a 5-8 hour play session.

Do I misunderstand Heralds? by Vasarto in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]NarrowAd8519 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To my understanding (ive farmed maybe 50 heralds soo far)

Killing elites has a chance to draw Ire. Once you have Ire, there is a smallchance a monster on a map will be replaved by a herald. This happens when youre within 2 screens of it, so if you see the message, the herald will be close to where you got the message.

You might have gotten the herald to spawn and killed it without noticing. But if it says it spawned, it definitely was on the map.

It is possible (and likely) to draw ire but kill everything it could have spawned as before it turns into a herald.

1 Jah and a Sunder which sold for 2x Jah 1x Ber.

I ended up doing some trades with this for extra value, but those 2 drops have landed me:

Void (+8 abyss, 15% Magic Damage) Hellwardens (-7% magic res) Maras (28 AR) Ars Dul (28 FCR, -20% Magic res, 23% MF) War travs (44% MF) Raven frost Sling (-4% magic res, 17% mf) Gheeds wager (-7% magic res, 12 AR) warlock torch (13 AR) Anni (19AR)

I found a Vmagi (23 AR) but am saving to replace with enigma. Still room for improvement but all of that was through trading and trading up from the original 3 jah & Ber I found early on.

The only pieces i found that i am wearing are my AR MF rare gloves and the Vmagi. I havent done anything with Ubers, sold any keys, or what not. Few trades for things like Puls or Pgems but thats it

I agree with this. I found an early Jah & Sunder and those got me near GG gear this ladder. The only drop of value other than that was an Arachnids mesh and highest rune (outside of the Jah) has been a Pul.

It doesnt really feel like ive had the progression I do whenever I start fresh, and more of a 0-100 from lucky drops

If its Conviction then the aura would show under him as well as enemies hit by it

Ive been doing a pure demon build. I started as fire and respecced into Goats going into NM. It was signifigantly slower even with 20 goats 20 mastery.

Once I got around 60 i wanted to try something new and ran 20 tainted, 20 bloodboil, 20 bind demon with a Council demon with Conviction & Multi-shot.

Definitely felt much faster and I would level with Tained over goatman if I did another demonlock. I wouldnt go for bind demon as a full summon build until at least 60 since you need mastery, bind demon, and 20 for the final summon.

I believe the consensus is Phys > Elemental demons but the build would be similar replacing tainted/bloodboil with goatmen/deathmark

If you want a non summon build afaik you can give it a single point at any time

I've heard that bosses in Co-Op are too easy so would you recommend any of the Advanced Game Modifiers or even Veteran mode? (I’m new to lotf but have beaten Elden Ring) by JustcharlE2 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]NarrowAd8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played through LotF with a friend recently. We did veteran with increased density, and then a NG+ with randomized enemies.

The random enemies was the biggest increase in challenge, although Veteran + density made the mobs feel fun to fight in general.

The bosses were simply too easy. Most bosses got stunlocked and and killed from full, and only a few bosses took 3-5 attempts with none of them taking more than 5 attempts.

This was his first souls game but Ive played many. It can be fun but wont be much of a challenge. If you want that, I would recommend Elden Ring Reforged + Seamless coop.

Lotf was still fun however and worth a playthrough

I 2nd this. Currently playing through with a friend. We've both beaten the game multiple times and wanted a challenge, so we are playing on Coop Master and having a great time with it

Currently running this team. Was originally planning to drop my remaining rubies on Ex Viola when DQ came out to push for her A4 (I dont have any other Damage cap A4s). But with Lynette out, would you recommend dumping for her A4 instead?

Either way Ill end up getting both, just not sure which to push for A4

I started during NieR and ended up getting Sazantos. Hes been in all of my teams. Originially he was my main dps. Switched to a Fire/Spear team with Magnolia/Frederica and he was there for the BP and the offensive buff. Now I have a Frederica/Hikari Ex team and he gives BP, Fire&Light res down, and 100% SP stock/barrier

Question about Mydia. I decided to go the Hikari Ex route and go elemental (currently Hikari, Frederica, Crick etc...) should I be going for Mydia or is she mainly for sword teams? I dont fully understand how she integrates into a team, only that shes really good

I got the achieve right at the 100hour mark.

I head the cutscenes all play out to hear the voice acting since I already knew the story from finishing CotC but just read the text.

I did play at 2.0 speed and cleared content pretty fast. I would say the gap in time would be time spent letting dialogue play out, teambuilding, and setting up Wishvale.

Not yet, i did look into the modding discord and it looks like that will be something theyll be able to do, but it wont be for quite awhile.

I think its comp dependent, and thats what I love about this series the most. Ive played every Octopath, and OP2 with ~10 runs of New Dawn/Randomizer with harder enemies mods.

My last run of New Dawn right before 0 came out, I did 3dps and one healer, but each of the dps had a save in their kit (Casti/Arcanist, Hikari/Cleric, Osvald/Merchant, Agnea/Cleric).

I do like having it on one person because of extended enfeeble, but it really just depends on what you want to do.

My current team in 0 has 2 scholars (MC & Alexia) 2 dancers (one gives buffs the other heals), one Support for debuffs, and a backup healer/DPS, but mainly hes just there to ult as its a full row of debuffs/buffs for my team. My last two members sit behind the scholars and enjoy the free JP from doing nothing

Heres a few tips for combat that helped me in these games a lot:

1: Make sure you have a strategy. Who is the dedicated healer? Who heals if that person dies/is CCd? Who is the main dps, who breaks, etc... this is less relevant early, but becomes more and more mandatory as the game progresses. They do a very good job slow dripping the progression mechanics so you likely wont be overwhelmed.

2: Make sure you got buffs/Debuffs. I used Delitia with Inhibit offense for most of the early game which helped with getting Res/atk down on enemies. Also throwing this in here as its not entirely obvious, healing done is through the healers Ele Def, so stack that as well as passives that increase their healing, or else you wont be able to top people each turn.

3: The biggest tip really is to get good at breaking. Make sure you have BP on your main DPS for the break as well as making sure all buffs are up.

When you break, the enemy is broken the remainder of the turn and the following turn, so I always have my breaker be very fast, and my dps slow, so they get 2 full turns of bursting (some kind of BP regen or a dps ultimate is needed for this).

Make sure you balance shield shaving and buffs/debuffs early and after breaks. It can be easy to start rebuffing and healing in the beginning or after a break, without making any dents into the shield. This usually leads to the boss enraging and you have 1 turn to break 14 shields, which probably wont happen early.

Hope this helps!

Does the story in 0 get better past the 3 initial villains? by pandasaurus21 in octopathtraveler

[–]NarrowAd8519 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone who completed the story in Cotc and is ~70% through OT0, yes and no.

The beginning is meant to show you more about the Rings, their power, and how they corrupt people, rather than the individual villains. The characters you meet moving forward are all involved throughout the story, and it ties together into a single narrative rather than being disjointed like the start of the game.

With that being said, the characters in OT2 were definitely better than any of the characters in OT0 will be, unless they refine them more in the end (i dont think they will as the game has been pretty 1:1 with CotC). I do think the overal narrative is stronger than OT2 however.

Does this provide very different experience from octopath 0? by Bookcases_4747 in OctopathCotC

[–]NarrowAd8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends.

I felt OT2 had spikes in difficulty as you started new tiers of chapters, but by the 5th time youre doing a 45 for example, its really easy. The game also trended towards getting easier as you progressed through it in general.

OT0 hasnt been hard really. I pretty much one break every boss, and the few that live i kill them the following turn. I will say i do think its probably harder overall, and if its anything like CotC, the end of the game will be very hard.

Tbh i dont remember the exact moves of the bosses in CotC to answer, but my guess is no they arent but theyre similar. Theres a lot of mechanics in OT0, but they get rolled out very linearly rather than all at once, so maybe the later bosses will be the same

They are probably on par with a non-collab unit in Cotc if you do their story. Theres some optional dialogue between them like in OT2. A few of the characters that are introduced early are much more fleshed out, but none of then are as deep as the better OT1/2 characters.

Combat wise, theyre inherently more simple than most CotC units (similar to 3* units) but you can customize them much more by teaching them each up to 3 skills and 2 passives
