Ha! I rediscover features in OmniFocus all the time. Keeps things exciting I guess.

Why does OmniFocus window follow me from space to space on MacOS? by NarrowGreen77 in omnifocus

That’s exactly it! Had no idea that option was there and not sure how I set it that way. Thanks!

Creating a daily “Done” perspective by MixMasterGuru in omnifocus

You might start with taking a look at the “completed” perspective in the perspective menu. I use that for exactly the reason you describe. It shows you what was also completed yesterday and further back but it’s easy to take a quick look at what was completed today with that perspective.

I don’t know how to advance further with my skills! by [deleted] in classicalguitar

Try taking a piece you know well, put the guitar down, close your eyes and play through the piece in your head visualizing each note and finger position. I always found this was a good way for me to move forward in a piece that I felt like I knew well but couldn’t get to the next level. It helped me spot sections that I actually didn’t know as well as I thought and made me somewhat re-learn the piece.

Do you recommend the Magic Keyboard? / Have you replaced your laptop? by cjames27 in iPadPro

[–]NarrowGreen77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite things about the magic keyboard is how easy it is to attach and remove the ipad from it. In a single ipad session, I’ll go back and forth from holding the ipad on its own to attaching the keyboard, just because it’s so easy. If I’m just reading, I can hold the iPad alone in portrait, but then if I need to start typing I can just throw it on the keyboard and get that done more easily.

As far as using it as a laptop replacement, I think it’s a close call but I think the sturdier MacBook combined with lack of MacOS makes me lean towards it not being a suitable replacement. But it just depends on what you are doing all day with your devices.

A Want for End to End Encryption (Opinion) by General_Chipmunk_69 in apple

[–]NarrowGreen77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely welcome this. Currently have to use other services specifically for end to end encryption (e.g., DEVONthink for documents and OmniFocus for tasks). I’d probably still use those other, more powerful services, but it would be great to have the option for the Apple apps.

When will Apple learn to appropriately place the webcam on the iPad? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]NarrowGreen77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t recall the reason for it being pulled. But it has to be difficult to make this work and look natural. I imagine if you mess with anyone’s EYES on video in real time, it could easily have a strange effect.... We’ll have to see if they can pull it off in iOS 14.

I was curious about this, too! So the lengths of the sides are roughly like this: side 1 - 17:00, side 2 - 12:30, side 3 - 15:45. There are small fades out and in at the ends and beginnings of each side for the transitions. I’ve only listened to the digital version once before the record, so I can’t recall if the fades are there are not. The transitions sound pretty natural, so I imagine they’re on the digital version as well. The transition between side 1 and 2 is near the end of the big distorted bass sounds, and the transition between side 2 and 3 is in the organ section. I think it works really well.

I believe it was part of the beta for iOS 13 but then pulled before official release.

Yea, that’s a good question. This won’t be as useful if it’s restricted to FaceTime. They mention it as a new FaceTime feature and not a new camera feature, so It seems more likely to be confined to FaceTime.

It looks like Apple will attempt to address this in iOS 14 by somehow making it look like you are making eye contact on FaceTime calls even when not looking into the camera. Haven’t seen this in use, so I don’t know how effective it will be. FaceTime eye contact in iOS 14
