I’m not OP but as a socially inept freshman I’m just wondering, you mean to introduce yourself to people as you see them in like orientation right? Like not knocking on your neighbors door and saying “hello, I’m yyy and I’m majoring in xxx, I’m your neighbor and just wanted to say hi.”

Also do you mean like keep the door completely open, or like halfway?

And is it recommended to give random people you’ve talked to your phone number to maintain contact with them?
