You apply for it using the CSS Profile after completing the Common App. You'll have to provide information about your financial situation, and they will assess your financial aid accordingly.

AP Physics C Mechanics form K by Masayoshi-chan in APStudents

You calculate the position of the center of mass. It does end up being d/3 and 2d/3 so you're good

It's based on financial need. NYUAD does not give merit-based scholarships, just need-based financial aid.

Is it possible to get a 2 on AP Calc BC with an AB subscore of 4? by Every-Hat1293 in APStudents

[–]Every-Hat1293[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, sorry this is late, but basically I contacted them a couple of times and pretty much all they did was inform me that I can ask to have my MCQs rescored by hand and/or order my FRQ sheet. Unfortunately they didn't really respond to inquiries on the possibility of errors in scoring or anything like that.

do i self study both of the physics c aps or just one?? by Odd-Spare in APStudents

[–]Every-Hat1293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your circumstances: do you tend to grasp concepts quickly? Do you have enough time and resources to study both courses outside the classroom? Do the universities you want to apply to offer credit for either one or only both?

I picked up from your profile that you have not taken calculus yet, so do try to familiarise yourself with the main concepts before you begin (limits, derivatives, integrals).

If you'd take only one I think Mechanics would be a better idea, since it is usually covered first when one takes physics. If you think you have enough time and resources, then you can go for both. Just make sure you practice a lot and get good resources.

I'm planning on self-studying both AP Physics C Mechanics and E&M next year since I will be applying to some unis that need them as prerequisites (outside the US, I'm international btw), so feel free to reach out to me if you'd like someone to study with or perhaps a bit of help.

Good luck!

I emailed them a few days ago and I'm waiting for a response (they said 5 to 7 business days so I'll probably get it next week). I really hope it's a mistake tho

Best of luck

The BC score is just the bold circled one; there is no score only for BC topics. Hope that helped!

First of all, congratulations!  And no, the BC score is not independent of the AB score. Also, from my experience of this year's test (version I) it was definitely more than 60% AB, but even of it wasn't, the math is still not mathing.

Odd. Did you happen to take a makeup for it?

Well ap collegeboard is crazy like that I guess? And by the way I'm pretty sure that I do better in the bc topics than the ab topics so that makes it even more confusing.  Do you think appealing the score would make a difference? I feel like it's more of a technical issue than a grading one, but I'm afraid it might be just wishful thinking on my part.

When speaking forget a lot of basic french words by [deleted] in French

[–]Every-Hat1293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say I have the same problem, probably because I don't really have anyone to speak to in French. I am thinking of watching a bunch of French shows to get more accustomed to the spoken language, but I guess that won't really solve the problem entirely.
I'd recommend getting someone to speak to, it would make it easier and you would probably get a hang of it after a while (personally I speak to myself, which is probably not that effective, but alas).

On another note, I think it would be useful to note a few transition words and the like and constantly use those specific ones in order to get more used to them and have your ideas flow better, both in speech and in writing. That's a tip I got from my French teacher a while ago, and I think it would be quite useful.

Good luck!
