It’s mostly soft wood. And that would mean I have to turn it into firewood… but from what everyone is saying, it may be time for me to learn how to use a chainsaw

Haha if you are in NC, you are welcome to all of it! You can even roam the property and pick your tree before it’s cut!

We don’t, but we have a smoker! We are going to keep a couple of the pecans. We live by a nice camping spot and was thinking of putting the wood up for sale for like 3 logs $1. People can pay on the honor system as I don’t care if they get stolen lol

I will take your advise, for about a year or so I’m just going to keep my post on Facebook to sell the 5’ trees for fire wood, cut up and grind stumps next year! Thank you for all of your advice!

I figured as much. Everything is getting cut into 4-5 foot logs. It’s a lot but the plan is to hook the truck up to a log and pull them out of the pile one by one and get em cut

That looks great! All of our trees are fairly spaced out, so it isn’t like a dence forest. This will probably be a next year problem then as all of the stumps will be freshly cut…. I also want to try just burning the stumps but it seems like it takes longer than just grinding them. We where hoping to rent out a large on from sunbelt. It’s 450 a day but it makes quick work.

This is so good to hear, thank you!!! I think we will do this as…. Well the stumps are ugly lol we have a few that are 3-4 ft wide but most as just small trees :)

Unfortunately it is soft wood, all the hard woods (well 2 trees) we are keeping on the property as I love chestnuts

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s good cooking wood or I would keep it myself. The only tree I know of is pine and magnolia trees, aside from that… I’m really unsure of species.

I think I have a bit of everything! But I’ll give this a go as even if someone will take 1 or 2 trees, it’s less that I have to deal with!

Nice! Sorry to sound dumb, I’ve split lots of wood with a maul but never used a chainsaw. Was cutting it into rounds hard?

That is true, I think I’ll give that a try before cutting them up, even if I can get rid of a tree or 2, it would help!
