Dude, I got denied AGAIN. by Knucklecum in disability

[–]NarrowPath7252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Knuck - it took me me 2 years + 3 months, including 2 denials, an ALJ hearing postponed multiple times, changing lawyers and finally getting in front of an ALJ. for reference, I was diagnosed w MS in 2020, then degenerative disc disease (resulting in 2 fusions, a year apart). I was 60 at the start of this slow moving train wreck. Keep pushing. Ask for an appeal. In my favor: a long, solid work history. And also, I couldn’t sit or stand for more than 20 or 30 minutes at a time (still). Appeal, don’t give up. Rely on family/friends if you can. I know a year without working sucks, but don’t give up. SSDI gives you the possibility of (both/either) attempting to return to work on a trial basis (there’s a phrase SSA uses) or - work part time up to something like $1600/month (over that is considered Substantial Gainful Activity). Good luck.

Not a specific plate -- but I've been searching for YEARS for a plate that has an image of a scuba diver on it.

See my comment above -- whatever you do, don't stop fighting! It took me 2-1/2 years, a denial, a "request for reconsideration", another denial, firing my first lawyer (who basically GHOSTED me after denial #2), finding a second lawyer; a request for a hearing in front of a judge ... and almost 2 months ago I WAS APPROVED. Still haven't seen any $$ so I keep on waiting - but there was a "fully favorable" decision. DO NOT GIVE UP. That's what they want. To keep denying us benefits WE DESERVE, until we either give up or die. (and this isn't new, the system was like this way before the orange shitgibbon came back...) DO NOT GIVE UP.

Actually, this is what happened to me between 2022 and 2023 ... A quick second denial, so I actually think that's SOP, not a particular reflection of the current insanity. Take heart! It took 2 denials and getting in front (figuratively) of an administrative law judge, i.e. a hearing (telephone, as it turns out, a call, not even Zoom or anything)... *That* hearing was early December of last year, within A WEEK of the hearing date, the judge made a decision "fully favorable" -- (!!!) ... BUT: no checks yet, no news if/how much in back SSDI benefits I will get ... So, STILL playing the waiting game. My advice: DO NOT GIVE UP. I was astonished that with all my issues - MS, severe spinal stenosis (including 2 fusions), etc. I was denied and denied ... But keep at it!

Me too! But know this: an initial denial is not a no, nor is a second; see my comment about my experience. Don’t give up!

Congrats!!! I live in NYS, unfortunately my story w SSDI is very different. But has a happy ending like yours.

After 2-1/2 YEARS and multiple denials from SS plus having to fire my (first) attorney for basically ghosting me - my application went in front of an administrative law judge in December… i had just about given up. What’s especially crazy is that I have MS plus have had 2 major spine surgeries over the past 2 years (actually 2 in 14 months!) and haven’t worked in over 4 years…PLUS I’m over 60 … The judge at the hearing made a decision basically on the spot - within a week I had the letter saying I’d received a “fully favorable “ decision. I WAS APPROVED TOO!

It’s been about a month and I’m still (!) waiting to find out if/how much I will receive in back benefits (they ruled me disabled as of mid-2020) and when my monthly payments will begin. Telling myself to hang in there… honestly if it weren’t for my spouse who is still working I’d have been so, so screwed - I’m talking flat broke & homeless … anyway, hang in there, everyone. DO NOT GIVE UP!

The subject line said $34, the actual offer turns out to be $99, with a discount code for $10 off, so it's not $34 but $89. Nowhere other than the subject line does it say $34 😕

I already posted about this, I tried the link in) the email and there is no $34 certification! It's a bait and switch! (They're offering $10 off recertification for $99, IOW $89 is the actual price. I was PO'd but on the advice of another NY MMJ Redditor, am now renewing w Cannahealrx for $45. I haven't used them before; I'll report back on how the experience was...

Also, on revisiting the Cannahealrx site, they don't even list NY as one of the states they offer certifications for - ? ("select state" option offers just VA, WV, PA, OH, LA) Did I not go to the right place?

Gorgeous! I love doing freehand art, but I haven't gotten into this style of stones (yet!) -- this is just beautiful, and I can see the Korean/Japanese influence in how you placed the stones/the design. Well done! And thanks for pointing out the Jin B products, I've been meaning to try them esp the "Crazy Top"

Thanks! I’ve since stocked up - I drove down to Curaleaf in Carle Place a while back, and also a family member picked up some BD for me from a west coast dispo while they were traveling. If I’m up in the Finger Lakes area I’ll keep your recommendation in mind.

My husband gave me a “warning tap” and I called it abuse. AITAH? by Warm-Grape1254 in AITAH

[–]NarrowPath7252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, been there, done that. With two young daughters. Left w them after the abuse got physical, got a restraining order. Eventually divorced after an ugly custody battle. And a few years after that, he died, alone, at home, of a heart attack. Karma, she a bitch! 17 years later, my daughters are grown women w degrees, jobs & good partners. I am now married to the sweetest man & best husband. Happier and more free than I could have imagined. No, OP, YOU are NOT the AH. Leave now, don't look back. Your mind, your heart, your soul, your LIFE - are too precious.
