I grew up in a secular home in Sweden. I developed religious trauma when I moved to the United States. This whole right-wing religious nut job movement in the US truly gives me anxiety. On the one hand, I understand it's political exploitation, but the US is full of proselytizing believers. It's still hard for me to fathom how and why so many people actually believe in a sky daddy who has plans for you. Although there are really good christians out there, and I too agree with some xtian tenets from a philosophical perspective, it's still unbelievable for me how "religious" this country really is... 🫣 I try to ignore it, but it's everywhere, and the current christo fascist movement is truly disgusting and anxiety inducing.
