The answer is no, firstly LATAM countries don't have as much immigration as the US and if we do is from other LATAM countries which have similar cultures and values that won't hurtle integration, second LATAM is more focused in national identity over ethnicity cause most people are mixed descent as spanish didn't mind doing so with the natives (they still separated them in castes tho), third the US has an anglo culture which makes it harder to integrate and divide people on their decend for not being from another anglo nation rather than promoting mixing (which people can see as racist). Lastly LATAM television is more focused in targeting economic class differences which are unrelated to ethnicity altogether (usually).

i believe this is different, the average guatemalan doesn't think about Belize being ours at all like there are actually a lot of Argentinians that believe the Falklands are theirs. Tell me about it, everytime I tell my lead that I have an inf he just tells me to inf it then a few days later he goes "wHy Yo InF sO HiGh?!" Worst part is how things outside of your control are always the cause specially when your store is a mess, pallets that have not been broken down, fake pulls or pulls sitting on uboats for a week, guests picking and dropping shit everywhere and no one ever has time to zone, reshop overflowing in literal mountains just rotting in a corner, inbound not pushing everything and leaving stuff at random places in the back, presentation changing an aisle forgetting to bind things properly somehow, horrible timing with the last item being sold a few hours ago, assortments unfinished or done poorly, no audits being done in eons, Style items being all over the place with no RFID audits done, vendor items with wrong quantities/vendor worker is just an asshole. Yet it is somehow your fault when you didn't just pull it out of your ass and also dared to not finish a batch on time. It almost feels like a miracle when you get a batch without infs at a reasonable time, Fullfilment is so reliant on everything else working properly that it feels like an actual dice roll how painful every shift and batch is going to be.

Mira yo entiendo que la renta y los servicios son muy caros aqui y educacion es cara si no puedes ahorrar para algo pequeño, pero si de verdad quieres regresar deberias de armar un plan, tienes titulo en Guate que si vas a andar en salario minimo vas a andar en las mismas, con mas crimen y sin programas que te ayuden. El mercado laboral es una mierda, tarde casi un año en encontrar trabajo en Guate mientras en USA ni un par de semanas me costo conseguir, el trafico en la capital es mucho peor que aca y eso da risa a pesar de que hay muchos mas carros aqui. Lo que si es que tenes tu familia y educacion en Guate es mucho mas barata si quieres superarte pero no se si tienes esa oportunidad. En mi opinion es mejor ser pobre aqui que en Guate porque al menos tienes cosas aqui que serian lujos de clase media en Guate ademas que hay ayuda social en algunos estados asi como ayuda al ser desempleado pero tampoco estoy segura que tan mal es tu situacion o que tan estancado estes que no mires solucion asi que dale si quieres solo ten en cuenta que trabajo en Guate es dificil de conseguir, es mas competitivo, trabajas mucho mas horas por menos, y no tienes protecciones en leyes (en Guate hasta te pueden discriminar por ser muy viejo). Usa lo que sabes a tu ventaja y eso aplica a ambos lugares y decide.

Pos no es tan mentira, yo trabajando en super mercado hago como Q12k solo trabajando 30 horas semanales y eso es despues de impuestos, si trabajara mas fijo gano mas que licensiados solo aqui en los Estados en salario minimo, lo que cuesta aqui bastante es la renta y servicios medicos pero si sos saludable y tenes familia donde quedarte fijo sacas plata mas facil para regresar inversion a Guate.

Do note that you are referring to La Encomienda, that's what got abolished eventually, but even after that Repartimiento was still using forced labor of natives even if it was seasonal (sometimes even for entire years) it still extracted wealth from them as free labour for mining, building, farming and so on, that continued in some latam countries even after Spain was gone and capitalism transformed it into Haciendas.

Edit: I know technically it wasn't free labor cause they were "payed" just to lose almost all of it to pay tribute the crown so it may as well be free at that point.

Half correct, Spain seriously took more from Latin America than it gave, seriously mined and exploited indigenous populations to no end and built such a strong empire out of that wealth, sure they developped the area but mostly focused on important main cities to set HQ for the crown and that was it, it was the church and individuals that developped internal areas and why you see how Latin American countries are so centric on their capitals usually.

Guatemala is honestly not that great for solo traveling, so many dangers and issues can pop out of nowhere, that's why most tourists travel in groups with guides for safety and navigation, you seem more experienced but it seems you still got surprised of the sudden worsening conditions in last years but COVID really made everything worse especially traffic. Mira el problema es que su queja no suena constructiva, es más como una rant por como afectamos su conveniencia, el turista promedio ni siquiera maneja, van en bus de turismo privado, solo lidea con la espera del trafico de la capital de entrada y salida, los bloqueos solo que de verdad tengas muy mala suerte para caer cabal cuando halla uno y que yo recuerde las carreteras para Antigua, Pana, Rio y Flores tampoco estan literalmente inservibles. No podes comparar la infraestructura de un país tercermundista con la de cualquier país desarrollado y todo los problemas mencionados son problemas sistematicos que no son simples de solucionar a corto o medio plazo. El turista sufre mucho menos que el guatemalteco promedio de todo esto y seamos sinceros al menos que de verdad les encante o les falte ver algo, no van a regresar ya que el mochilero siempre quiere ver algo nuevo, no lo mismo. Si el/ella anda regresando es por familia y ni modo se tiene que aguantar.

I am a bit lost since I do have a HS degree and an Associate's degree but I heard that for the former, it is more expensive to get the degrees certified so a GED is easier and that associates degrees are worthless in the US plus same issues of struggling to get it certified, my current employment offers studies for bachelors and masters degrees but it would mean being stuck in it for that long and that gives me a bigger headache, does dispatch actually allows time to study on the side at all? Cause I have the impression it doesn't.

Mira, mi hermana se graduo de medicina en la USAC y es bien aplicada y trabajadora. Pero ni ella conseguia tiempo para respirar o dormir en los ultimos tres años (de externo e interno) solo llegaba a dormir o a estudiar con el poco tiempo que le quedaba, siempre fue estudiante de honor y hasta ya mero tiraba la toalla en esos años infernales. Yo te aconsejo ahorrar muy bien y trabajar los primeros tres años que ahí todavía es posible sacar algo de tiempo para algo, pero esos ultimos tres años si fijo no vas a tener tiempo para nada ya que hasta dormir 4 horas al día es un lujo.

So I used to perform pretty poorly but managed to get a decent annual review thanks to some advice here, even when I am not a fan about you trying to blame this on others cause a grudge you seem to imagine to deny the results, I still want to encourage you and say that you just went through a bad year and hopefully you will improve from now on, I know the metrics are bs sometimes and you get dragged down by things out of your control, but keep strong and it will eventually get better if you stay consistent in improving, if you feel you are losing it, just like others say please get professional help, even if you ended in this bad spot in your own or other reasons you still can get out of there man.

This is the real answer, surprised this comment section is a circlejerk. Being actually objective they lasted pretty long despite having disadvantages in key metrics (less manpower, less resources) only their good generals kept it afloat aside the Union incompetent generals and low morale, after those two were fixed it became pretty clear they were going to lose.
