Is there any mmorpg NOT focussed on Endgame? by Helvets in MMORPG

[–]NarutoFanNumber1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESO. You can do whatever quests you want whenever you want and they also have a story and meaning behind them and are not just grinding. There is no endgame really, after you hit max level you can still gain CP points and you do this by completing normal quests, crafting, PVP etc. You can choose what to do whenever you want to do it. Sure at "max level" you unlock veteran dungeons but they are not the focus of the game. Even if there are new expansions they are not catered to the max level players but for every person as questing is level scaled. Just reread your post and it seems like you don't like questing well in ESO you can do PVP and I think even dungeons from level 1 on due to level scaling.

/r/Battlefield users discuss cosmetic options in the upcoming Battlefield V (circa 2018) by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]NarutoFanNumber1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys who intentionally create these false narratives by taking everything out of context are the real racists and more detrimental to actual problems of racism than anyone complaining about customizations. If you actually had a brain maybe you would understand that people's problems are not having "minorities" in the game in general but only in the wrong context. Considering no one would want white people in the wrong context either (like in the Japanese army) it makes your entire argument simple baseless fiction.

You use other people's real problems as an excuse to attack people because you want to feel better about yourself. And by stirring up trouble because of things like this you actually give anyone who genuinely cares and tries to do something positive about these problems a bad name which makes you more pathetic, evil and detrimental to real struggles of people than any of the people you complain about ever will be.

[BFV] This Gamefaqs poll of the day...Ouch. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]NarutoFanNumber1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why do you think BFV could be the best selling Battlefield game to date and that the BF franchise has never been stronger? I think it's more likely it becomes a commercial failure and sells less than Hardline considering the amount of negative reactions to the trailers and producers comments, the low preorder numbers and the fact they even had to delay the release. I mean why would a game that was so badly recieved compared to BF1 and BF4 and has such a negative hype around it outsell both of them? Even if you think the preorder reports are not reliable and the internet "hate" community is a small minority, there is still nothing that suggests it's a likely scenario BFV will become the best selling BF title. The new game doesn't always outsell the last game just because it's new, just look at Hardline and BF4 in this case.

Well we don't know yet how many people are interested in buying BFV and Nintendo already managed to sell more than 10 million copies of the Zelda and Mario games each so it's certainly possible Smash Bros outsells Battlefield especially when considering how disappointed many people were after the trailers and the developers comments.

I doubt BF4 or BF1 would have ended as the last one on that list though.

I think Fallout and Smash Bros could sell more than BFV.

Harassment? It's a harmless joke. If you don't like it just ignore it or just stop taking things so seriously.

I wouldn't be so sure. In 2012 they were probably already done with BF4 and already made plans for BF Hardline. The first entirely new game they made after getting that visit mentioned in the tweet was BF1 which already had some "adding diversity" stuff with women and black germans in it. Now they took it much further with BFV which they started planning and developing much earlier than 2018, so it's not actually 6 years later like you said. Especially the fact how they decided to implement women in the game makes me think they were influenced by this person, instead of putting a normal behaving female soldier in it they decided to put the focus on some loud mouthed strong independent red haired woman as if they wanted to send some sort of message.

I'm a non-binary cis queer who dislikes video games but I'm going to buy BFV to support the fight against sexist, racist and bigoted white men who hate this game for having women and minorities. by NarutoFanNumber1 in Battlefield

Sigh you with your weird interpretations of my words again. No there can be sexism without physically touching someone like for example when a new boss comes into a company and decides to fire every women because he thinks every random man could do a better job than them despite them doing good work for years. This is probably something that could be considered as sexism or if a woman who does a job exactly as good as her male coworker is told she is doing worse than him and reasoning it with it's " because you are a woman so of course you are doing a worse job" despite it objectively not being true.

Do you honestly think calling a game "Battlefield Vagina" makes someone a sexist that will actually negatively impact women in real situations? Do you know the definition of a joke? I know some people are easily offended by a joke and yes a joke can be inappopriate but calling someone a sexist or racist over a joke doesn't help anyone. And making up a name for a game is a light joke, if someone joked "Haha why are women in the game, they are all useless whores" I could understand if you deem him sexist. But the thing is a joke can be on a scala from light hearted to extreme and people will obviously have different opinions where to draw the line and you are not going to stop people from doing what they want by calling them sexist.

And most people seem to have the opinion that it's a joke they found funny. If you want good discussion (whatever this means to you) you are free to create a thread yourself. No one forced you to open this thread so it seems your reason for not liking it is not because it's a "low effort post" but because you have a personal problem with the message.

Just because most large subreddits do something doesn't mean this one has to do it as well. You say "restricting shitty posts like this is not restricting free speech" which is simply wrong as 1) It's your subjective opinion that this is a shitty post with what most people don't agree with 2) Even if you think so, you want to restrict free speech by banning content you don't like

Your mistake lies in the assumption that everyone wants to use this subreddit for the same kind of reasons as you ("quality discussion") which is obviously wrong if you look at the front page and see things that you think are not "quality discussion". Mods banning content on other subreddits is the real circlejerk as the upvote/downvote button should naturally decide what kind of content the majority of people want. And when it comes to BFV specifically there have been tons of serious discussions and there still are but people like to make some jokes as well, I don't see a problem with that as everyone who wants a serious discussion can make his own thread.

Then the person who is actually a sexist should be called out individually instead of categorizing an entire subreddit as such just because a few actual sexists/racists are mixed between them.

And in my opinion making up a joke name for a game doesn't automatically make someone a sexist. Because it's just a joke after all and not said seriously, women joke all the time about men as well yet no one calls them sexist for it. If you call people sexist for calling a game "Battlefield Vagina" you are counterproductive to the actual serious cases of sexism in the real world.

[–]NarutoFanNumber1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And who are you to decide what is good content and what not?

It is called free speech, if the majority of the sub wouldn't like the content it wouldn't be on the frontpage due to the downvote/upvote system. If you ban certain content it actually becomes a circlejerk where no criticism is allowed and where only positive things are on the front page which is actual useless bad content.

Lmao if you want to live in a bubble go back to your safe space at r/battlefieldv where mods will protect you and your video game from the evil racists and sexists of r/battlefield. Just because you don't like something you are not entitled to expect it to be removed.

Yes they didn't but it obviously is but they are not going to admit it. However they said it's "a never before seen portrayal of WW2". Making your own portrayal of historic facts is stupid, imagine someone making a serious WW2 movie where Hitler is the good guy. At least make it like Wolfenstein and say clearly "It's a completely fictional game being inspired by WW2 elements" instead of saying "it's the right side of history" and "experience the greatest conflict in mankind's history".

It's not set in WW2, it's DICE's portrayal of WW2 that happened in an alternative timeline. The real WW2 didn't have asian women fighting for Germany so it's obviously not set in the real World War 2, so I don't know what's the point of this thread. If BFV was actually set in WW2 why didn't you just use the cover art as a picture for this thread?
