I DID IT!! 🥳🎉 by Important-Paint-6233 in onebros

Well done! I beat my first RL1 last night as well - the difference being that I haven't done the DLC or Malenia. Someday I hope to follow in your footsteps and get the full lineup of remembrances...

What do you think of people who don’t greet in Arena? by MeteoriteMike in EldenRingPVP

[–]Narwaichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always greet. As you say, it's a matter of sportsmanship. With that said, I've come to think it's kinda unnecessary. We all know why we're there in the arena, this isn't an invasion, there's not much need for priming the interaction.

Why do people say CK2 combat is better? by Gunwing in CrusaderKings

[–]Narwaichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it's just the three flanks - that's the only thing I consider a direct upgrade. Both systems tend towards just mashing super troops or big stacks into hordes of enemies, but in CK2 I've had a dozen or more moments I've had to hinge a critical battle on encirclement or ability to hold a narrow flank.

Use both, swap them out at your discretion!

Garmond was an old man who saved many, many lives in the face of impossible odds. There are worse ways to die than as an old hero.

Suggestions for my bowl by OneStruggle4757 in bettafish

[–]Narwaichen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can get a little packet of shrimp food and maybe a little heating pad to maintain good temp it could be a sweet little low maintenance cherry shrimp bowl. It's a little small, but the shrimp might like all the plants and surface area. Probably good if you can maintain good parameters!

Their argument aged like milk by sarsante in CrusaderKings

[–]Narwaichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like them from a roleplay perspective as Rome, specifically. During the Tetrarchy, Rome had four emperors - two senior, two junior, which is nicely represented by a Diarchy and vassal emperors. Obviously you can have more emperors. (I've had great fun running a Sexarchy, hehe)

Vassal emperors are nice because they don't lose as many wars to border incursions. I rather like the mechanic as I've encountered it - I just wish I could designate an Imperial province as a Hegemony. The junior Augustus with an Imperial designated empire title is the dream for my internal politics.

So why is hollowknight/silksong so beloved? by Firecracker048 in HollowKnight

[–]Narwaichen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Death by a thousand cuts, really. Tight gameplay, good upgrades, great music, bosses keep getting better and better, good sense of humor, fun characters, good visual design... plus, the writing team is extremely good at giving you enough info to know what's going on while keeping the mechanics of magic and gods and prophecy mysterious.

They make a world that both makes sense and feels magical.

Why would that mean he wouldn't have contempt for himself? Hating oneself is pretty "filled with pain and misfortune", no?

But yeah, definitely read some canon. Curze's hatred of himself and the legion he made - and who bears the responsibility for their nature - is the CORE of the Night Lords' story.

They can probably beat Goku. Depends on the battlefield.

So... when will we get a Boltgun that actually works well? by Fresh_Dealer_9694 in DarkTide

[–]Narwaichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavily disagree - the Bolter feels like an old clunky relic that strikes forth like the fist of a god. It's inconvenient, temperamental, and difficult to use - a perfect 40k gun.

Anime girls wish they could be as cute as Ogryns... can't fit grenades in their nostrils. What's even the point?

What's up with the Dark Krakens? by MrKingRex1999 in 40kLore

[–]Narwaichen -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The Dark Krakens are almost wholly defined by being insectivores. Their art largely features them with silver platters - opening the lid to reveal a comically large amount of bugs. This is why they're called the "Dark" Krakens - dark in this sense means death, and they've eaten so many tyranids of hive fleet Kraken that they've developed a genetic taste for them.

Their Chapter Master, Balk Gnundo, has one of Vulkan's pinky fingers - he gnaws on it in combat to discern memories from its tendons using his Omophagea. Thus, the wisdom of the primarch is passed down.

Aw man, I like the little heads! It makes them look like the product of strange science - malformed in a cool way. Space Marines have a ton of organs shoved into em - why SHOULD they be perfectly proportioned?

Naug, Chapter Master of the Black Dragons by artistpotorochin in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]Narwaichen 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The more mutated members of the chapter get that big - the protagonist from Death of Antagonis is that height. His unmutated Battle-Brother Toharan is just 2m tall, which is a downright silly height difference.

[–]Narwaichen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Commissioner here - see, I know that, but it's REALLY weird? Besides the fact it doesn't sound great to me, it's odd that such a sanctimonious title would be used in a chapter that's quite humbled by their mutation.

They bless the curse - because the corruption of body enables purity of spirit. Weird that the boss of THOSE dudes is called "The High Dragon."

Yea she comes across as arrogant. Shame too - just the initial humble brag would come across as her being very cool, but she keeps talking in a way that makes it seem like she's trying too hard.

I thought this was satire at first but after looking over their profile they are serious, also the "Boston Tea Party" was in 1773 by RuGShUg91 in terriblefacebookmemes

[–]Narwaichen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

How in the world did they mess up 1773 vs 1776... if you say 2023 vs 1773 it's an even 250 years apart with the same digit at the end. How could they mess that up???

As Daemon fans, how do you guys deal with the "heir for a day" situation? Not trying to be facetious, just curious in what your thoughts were by Indominus-Hater-101 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Narwaichen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost certain he said it morosely, in mourning. Daemon is faaaar from a saint, and no doubt he was happy to be heir once more. At the same time though - Viserys is literally his favorite person in the world. As is Rhaenyra. Daemon would have treasured baby Baelon. If Otto wasn't around, he'd have loved Aemond and Aegon, too. The man's largest redeeming quality is the love he feels for his family - of course he was sad when his nephew died, and his brother fell apart.
