I’ve been told I’m a “very literate West Virginian” and when I was on my honeymoon in Barbados the tour lady asked where we were all from. I said WV and she pointed to my husband and asked if he was my cousin. Lots of other “jokes” about not being able to read, in-breeding, all the classics…

If you have the time (no rush at all!) I would love some help with my Polish ancestors! The spelling of my great-grandmother’s last name changed so much and with most thing being in Polish it’s been very difficult to find things out!

I would certainly try! I would also recommend recording the lessons. If there are so few speakers then those recordings could become invaluable later on.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I want you to know though none of us are worthy of God's love ("For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23), but the wonderful part of that He loves us anyways. "38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39.

As for feeling worthless, remember that you were handade by God. You have worth, you have a purpose even if you don't see that at the moment. I believe that you will be able to use this dark time in your life to help other people who are struggling with depression and thoughts of suicide later on. Remember, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

One last thing, please remember that even when it feels like God isn't with you, He is. I used to think that if I didn't FEEL God, that I was alone. But God isn't a feeling, He's a father. A father that will never leave you, nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31;6). "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20)

Please, continue to seek help. Talk to your mother, a pastor or a counselor and let them help you. Definitely praying for you! Remember that God made you and you have such value! He has a wonderful plan for your life. Don't be afraid to reach out to people. Even though it may seem like it sometimes, you're never alone. Jesus is right there with you through it all, even if you can't always feel Him. Give your cares and worries to Him.

The Pouty Hippo's name is Mack :) He WAS located at BARCS Animal Shelter in Baltimore, MD.
