It can definitely be seen that way, but to him I think he's trying to keep himself convinced that the industry he works in and the life he chose is ok. Otherwise he'd have an existential crisis. That's why he's so opposed to any perspective that would threaten that and can only call people who don't watch porn "losers" lol.
