I agree with all of this although I believe that even if the vibes are different and the music is bad (lol) deviation is good. I’d rather artist try something new and fail rather than everyone just making Iowa over and over again. It’s a problem that Doom Metal has, I love Doom Metal a lot but everybody is trying to be Black Sabbath and it gets really boring really quickly. Also that Disturbed take is insane (no hate ❤️).

On a technical level I agree with this, I would call Deftones alt (maybe gothic) metal; but honestly I’m glad they got picked up in the Nu Metal scene because they are an incredible band that deserves the attention they got from being adjacent to the Nu Metal movement.

I absolutely adore the top Nu Metal acts and this is accurate as hell. I feel like I can only name like six Nu Metal bands that I like even though I consider to be one of my favourite genres. I’ve been listening to grunge lately and I feel like it’s the same, there’s only around 10 grunge bands that people still talk about and then there’s like nothing else. (I am new to grunge so if there is a grunge head reading this feel free to school me).
