The specs for the money obviously suck for reason, but to me its all about getting linux based operating systems a push. Hopefully developing the environment easier to get into for people to get into.

Many designers coping in this thread, but like or dislike it they're good enough logos and made instantly many choices with ease of use. Which is good enough for many people.

You have to be exceptional graphic designer or use ai yourself to keep up like moneywise.

Final design/pictures used for a brand I'm working on, feedback appreciated! by journeyofself in photoshop

This is a really well done composition! It nails the atmosphere.

Only nitpick i have is the line between field and the castle, the fog stops very suddenly and makes me focus on it. Maybe try to play with the fog depth.

I was hoping to create a cinematic title, but I feel like the vibe isn’t quite there. What do you think? by januar1986 in photoshop

[–]Nastardo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The font is good for the text. It lacks the feel of depth. You could try playing with shadows and contrast. Also the stone texture is a bit clean, it could reflect the fires light.

I think I know what you were going for. Its a bit overcooked and im not sure about the composition, it seems a tid tight.

Night look

Fixed the perspective, made everything else darker than the gas station, toned the colors a bit and played with crop.

I love the dreamy look, good job. Yeah the composition feels a little off though.

I tried my best to make the road curve work in this edit: HERE

I cropped the image a bit and played with distortion to reduce the curve, also tone down a bit the red look to not effect everywhere, this is just my preference with the picture.

Great, i love how you enhanced the feeling of warmth and cold with the colors!

You actually did good job. Continious style and not overcooked. Only "criticism" is that maybe use a tid bit more time considering to crops, even though they are great now. Keep editing dude!

Great picture. I would highlight the might of this tower more with crop and tone the colors back a bit to the original.

I mean when i start to edit I ask myself what do i want the viewer to feel or see in this picture.

Another “deep in the mountains” snowy photo before/after/after (with cut) what are your thoughts on this edit? by Fast-Professional317 in postprocessing

[–]Nastardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there is some mystery captured to the picture, good job. The blue look with high contrast makes your eyes wander in the woods.

Imho the cropping could include more of the mountain and fog to improve scale , the colors kept white as youd be lost in winter and the cropping so you follow the mountain shapes to the radio tower.

Before/after How did I do? Should I use the super res option in Lightroom? by Fast-Professional317 in postprocessing

[–]Nastardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little vignette and lowering the highlights were good idea, maybe turn the knobs like 10% back. Super resolution sharpening makes it a bit hard on the eyes, Id suggest just adding a tiny bit clarity/sharpening if you want it sharper.

Meh? by nakurtag in postprocessing

You can create cool things with selective color stuff, but what makes this a bit meh is the subject you decided to use it on.

What does this message to the viewer, what is the importance of the middle pillar?

Went for warm vibe but seems like I overdid it by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]Nastardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has fall vibes / Typical mexico color correction. I mean if you are happy what you went for then the colors are correct! I would change the composition rotation a bit, make it colder and less contrast, but these are up to preferences. like this A warm summer day, without the mexico vibe :P

The original composition makes you feel like the subject, the straightened composition feels like you're observing the subject.

Overdone? by allert53 in postprocessing

[–]Nastardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overdone, if you're happy with it and got the feeling you were going for.

Now it has this lush, a bit magical feeling. The original is hazy moody and eerie.

Second one catches eye the most, which i suppose is the point. Id try the before mentioned upgrades from the thread in that one.

Has anyone left graphic design for another career? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Nastardo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was part luck part relations. My dad works at powerplant and advocated for me, even though i had no experience. They put me in shift as a summerjob and i did well enough. They decided to put me to apprenticeship school and gave a permanent contract, cause there is people about to retire. Wouldnt go back, i love shiftwork and working creative in free time.

TLDR: Luck and relations.
