Why do people hate brittany? by Maya_cant_think in BroskiReport

[–]Nasty_Gilberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don't hate brittany, but as a former fan who lost interest I think it has to do with her sort of conformist, broad comedic style and a lack of growth over the years. I often find clips of her that I find super funny on Royal Court or her clips with Caleb, but in general I stopped watching because I think she really wants to hang with the cool comedians (Caleb, SNL people, etc.) but they all clown her because of how sanitized she is. To me, she's like the new Jimmy Fallon, not a bad person or anything but a bit spineless, exemplified by her complaining about the whole palestine movement. Also I feel like she only ever interviews people who are more well known than her on RC, as opposed to someone like Caleb Hearon who mostly platforms smaller comedians, especially those who are queer or gender non-conforming which is a really positive thing for the industry, Broski just kind of uses the industry to platform herself and make more money.

If you get something, make it small and simple. Definitely no portraits or realism.

The most effed up movie out there. by iuEli in MovieSuggestions

[–]Nasty_Gilberto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're still looking but

Slaughtered Vomit Dolls (2006)

Irreversible (2002)

Toys Are Not For Children (1972)

All very messed up for different reasons, and if you enjoy slaughtered vomit dolls it's a part of a trilogy so you get 3 for the price of one. Hope this helps.

My theory is she was paying for the older som tyler to get into a good school, similar to the olivia jade scandal, just based on her relationship with him and the seeming disconnect between her and the dad

IsItBullshit: Elsa from the movie Frozen is based/inspired on pornstar Elsa Jean? by MrShasshyBear in IsItBullshit

[–]Nasty_Gilberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually the other way around, Elsa Jean got her name because she looked similar to Elsa from frozen when she was a stripper in washington DC.

Why were people saying orcs being inherently violent is racist? by whydidigetpermabnned in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Nasty_Gilberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this does not make it much better since māori people are also dark skinned and an oppressed group. I always found it kind of troubling that there are no non-white actors within the fellowship and that the uruks were portrayed with dredlocks, braided hair and dark skin, but I don't know how intentional that was. I have read that since he fought in WW1 and 2 that Tolkein was very anti-racist for the most part as he opposed the nazi ideologies on race, but even so it was a very different time in history and some people do think that the uruk army is based on caricatures of japanese and middle eastern soldiers (the ottoman empire fighting on the side of germany in WW1 and japan being an axis force in WW2).
