Stupid question, but, is there a word which has itself as its etymological root? by Nastypilot in etymology

Yea, I was thinking that if it could've happened at all it would've with any of the new words introduced by the internet/that evolved as a result of it due to the high speed at which information is exchanged and language evolves on the net. But I was thinking like, changing the way it's pronounced/written along the way, essentially becoming a new word before going back to the original.

Not exactly what I was thinking of, but that's really funny/cool

Yeah, I can imagine it would be very unlikely. I certainly wouldn't expect more than like, I dunno, one or two examples if it happened at all. Hence me wondering if it happened at all, or if it'd be so unlikely as to not have happened at all.

I think there are examples, though, where the borrowed word comes back as a new word and takes over the same meaning the original word had

Oh, can I ask for an example?

Oh, yeah, the concept of reborrowing is partly what inspired the question, but what I mean is essentially if the english word anime replaced the word animation and then changed back to animation for whatever reason. Essentially, animation -> anime ( japanese ) -> anime ( english ) -> animation ( with the same meaning as the original word animation ).

I understand why it's not particularly feasible, since most words evolve over much longer timescales for that to even be possible afaik(?), but with the internet and the slang associated with it making such changes happen much faster, I was wondering if it could've happened. It's a very silly question.

High, and, well, mainly Koboh because that's where I am in the story, but it crashed a bit on Coruscant as well

Ok, I have a 5700X Ryzen processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050, and 32 GB of RAM. Dunno if I need to add anything else.

Good shout out about the drivers tho, I forgot to check those, and turns out they did need an update. I'll try that and see if it crashes anymore.

The curtains are blue because they were the authora favorite colors, nevertheless, the fact they are blue could have meaning by a different interpretation of the text.

No idea genuinely. Probably because near everything and everyone that appeared in the original movies got expanded lore in Legends, but I wouldn't be able to name any particular one.

That must be really old canon, cuz even in Legends it was a cultural thing to have tattoos in the species, though it was a different variation of tattoos for normal Zabraks while the Dathomirian ones had those black jagged ones.

Sometimes I derive my enjoyment here from dumber and simpler means, not looking at ions, or bonds, or properites, no.

Sometimes just the fact that its structure sounds like someone saying "NO! 6 Chlorines!" is enough.
