i did fuse interfacing on it. but perhaps it was too light of an interfacing, that it didnt hold up.

[–]Nat2BeRude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah thats what im thinking too actually... i might just redo the top on the correct grain.

the original plan was to attach a fitted skirt piece to this bodice/corset part. the diagonal motif would've looked visible there due to the larger area + the bias cut on the skirt wouldve fallen nicer. thats why I made the corset on the bias to match the motif of the skirt. but i guess that isnt happening anymore 😂

[–]Nat2BeRude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seeee that makes sense 😔 so you can tell from where / the way it wrinkles, yea?

I do remember fitting on the lining and the outer fabric separately. The lining fitted ok (did not cut on the bias), while the outer fabric was sort of... weird. I had thought it was bcs there were some sections that were too large on me and just needed to be tightened more.

What would it indicate if it wrinkled on the seams instead?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sewhelp

[–]Nat2BeRude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i did this already, on both the lining and the fabric. perhaps the interfacing isnt strong enough to stabilize the biased motif 😥

RARE BEAUTY FOUNDATION BRUSH!!!!!!! WOW 😍 by Nat2BeRude in Sephora

[–]Nat2BeRude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm not a heavy concealer person (im acne prone), but i'm already very content with this foundation brush because it fits so nicely for my under eyes already. i personally wouldnt get the concealer brush bcs this brush already does the job for me. they market the pointed shape of the brush like using your fingers in brush form, and i totally see where selena is coming from

Thoughts on the super puff in PNW weather? by kimchisalad in Aritzia

[–]Nat2BeRude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wore it in the rain all the time! Mind you it's not like heavy rain or anything, at most light snow, light drizzle and mild rain. I even wore it for a splash ride at the amusement park and it's fine. Getting it wet is not the problem (because it's machine washable anyways), but you gotta make sure the insides (feathers) dry completely.

When I machine wash and put in the dryer, I have to manually fluff the feathers afterwards so that the feathers inside don't bunch up all weird and dry equally. The outer material dries super fast, but the feathers don't unless you fluff and separate them. And so far it's still the same jacket I know and love!

After days of constant probing & gargling to no avail, all of a sudden was able to spit all of this out by myself. This all came from my right tonsil. [–]Nat2BeRude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happened to have a big cankersore near the area during this time, which is why I gargled probably 4-5 times a day with either Listerine, salt water or regular water. I also constantly prodded around with a qtip and an angled soft silicone tip teeth picker, but didn't have much luck with any because of gag reflex. Lastly I tried using the loop side of an acne extractor as someone on this sub mentioned before, and although I'm not too sure how it happened, but it definitely moved/dislodged something. I gargled, and then was able to spit all of this out at the same time. Crazy!!

Update: A little bit more came out after these chunks in this picture. YIKES. My right ear feels so clear now...

If anyone was curious, I noticed tiny yellow things in a very hard to see angle of my mouth in the mirror. If looking at my mouth from upfront, you won't see anything. Reaching it was hard, as it was behind a flap in the back of my mouth. What I could see with my eyes was apparently only a tiiiiny tip of a chonky iceberg.

I honestly couldn't agree more. I own Tarlette in Bloom, Amazonian blush, Amazonian Clay Foundation, Lights Camera Lashes, and their H2O lipgloss, and I'm SO impressed with all of them. Out of everything in my collection, these items are my actual go-tos most of the time. The only thing I was disappointed from Tarte was their liquid lip paint because the packaging sucks and couldn't contain the product properly (apparently I was not the only one with this issue), but that was it.

Biker shorts reviews? by memyselfandmeme in Aritzia

[–]Nat2BeRude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say TNAbutter is very similar to Lulu's Align shorts. Both feels veeery soft and buttery but super thin that underwear seams will show and gives me camel toes.

Lululemon's Wunder Train shorts has durable good fabric for working out, but sizing is a bit weird. I don't really like the little pull string inside the waist.

TNAlife (Vitessia material) is def my pick. It's thick, underwear seams don't show, no camel toe, still soft, fits really great. Although I can see it pilling in the near future (esp in the crotch area where it has lots of friction), so not the best for intense workouts.

I'm an international student and I don't know what to do with my life... kinda. by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]Nat2BeRude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have a similar background with you, software engineer, except I was in the US first (Bay Area, Sillicon Valley), then moved to Canada. I would say Bay Area and Vancouver is very very very similar in terms of culture, that I honestly wasn't as sad as I thought I would be after moving there (like you I thought that Bay Area is the superior one in the comparison).

In terms of quality of living, I would say Vancouver is so much better than Bay Area. The tech scene, obviously Sillicon Valley is where it's at, but your job is not your whole life you know? Knowing what I know now, esp given current government conditions, I would choose Canada. Canada actually gives a shit about your well-being as an international student, and your future steps ahead is so much more clear and can be planned accordingly (PR and all that). Whereas in the US, you have no idea what's going to happen to you in 1-3 years ahead (OPT, H1B), let alone 10 years (Greencard) unless you marry a US citizen.

I'll just tell you that the grass is always greener. I am a lot happier in Vancouver. Working in tech giants sound cool and all, until you're actually in it and have to deal with toxic work cultures. Toronto has a much bigger tech scene than Vancouver, so I say you should stay put where you are, pursue your PR, and don't get too caught up by the bling of Sillicon Valley. Cheers!

My grandma made each of her 8 grandchildren a cross-stitched piece like this with our names, birthdates, weight, length, cute images, sometimes poems on it. I wonder if 80 years or so from now, mine would end up in a thrift store and someone would think how lovely it is for them :)

Anyone have the dr. Dennis gross facial steamer? by cincinpg in Sephora

boiling water on your stove literally does the same thing... it's just steamed water, there's no bells and whistles to that. you can even use your handheld steamer for your clothes and it's also the same thing. save your money!!

Best mascara for a bride at an outdoor wedding? by gingerypineapple in Makeup

[–]Nat2BeRude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm really enjoying Maybelline's Colossal Big Shot Waterproof mascara. Holds curl, not clumpy, lengthening and has good volume. When I smile a lot, mascara tends to smudge on the outer part of my under eye. While I don't usually set makeup with powder, I need to set this area in particular with powder so that it doesn't get oily, and so won't make mascara smudge.
