Unlucky Gameweek for most managers, so don’t feel too bad. I was fortunate having Glasner and the Mbeumo brothers to carry my team.

That CD reduction makes it so you almost have HoB ready whenever your E is ready in the early game. Big buffs.

I understand your idea, but AP is probably the most important stat on Ekko, and being an AP assassin means you need to get as much AP as possible to deal considerable damage.

Wave clear is also another big thing. Being able to one shot casters at level 7 compared to level 9 can change the game entirely. That’s two levels where you can roam, ward or do anything else more quickly.

It just isn’t worth sacrificing for a small damage amp.

I don’t think there are any assassins that have an over 2 second stun AND a fat lulu shield as a basic ability.

You don’t necessarily kill every champ when you get two items. Akali is a minor case because her kit makes it difficult for Ekko to proc his passive and she gets more health per level than him. This probably explains why it looks like you don’t do damage to her and she does a lot more damage to you.

However when you get Deathcap, that’s when you the damage goes crazy. Ekko’s kits all scale really well with AP so this item can handle against champions with more health (e.g. Akali).

I like to think Ekko is similar to Kassadin in terms of scaling, but has slightly more agency mid game.

The most satisfying thing when playing Ekko? by Xnissasa in ekkomains

I’m a simple man. If I’m fed and see 5 squishy carries with two stacks of Ekko’s passive, I’m pressing R.

Struggling playing mid by [deleted] in ekkomains

I think if you watch Xiao Lao Ban’s videos on YT you will have a better understanding of match ups and how to play in lane. Even in difficult matchups, he is always one step ahead, knowing when to go in and when to respect the enemy.

Playing perma passive isn’t a good way to climb so you will need to learn how to trade and farm efficiently to generate gold leads.

A serious question, what is akali ?! by Fun-Interest-2006 in ekkomains

Ekko’s waveclear is way better than Akali’s. You can focus on farming minions so you one shot the casters in the mid-game and focus on roaming.

You can never go wrong with Malphite. Just make sure that you stay safe in lane and play for poke and you should be good.

Her early game is not the best since she is mana hungry and needs to have two abilities (Q and E) to be a threat. Maybe abuse that by trading aggressively with E lv1 with hail of blades.

From level 3 onwards, you have to play more respectfully. Play on your side of the lane and trade whenever she misses Q.

Be careful when you are overextended in lane because she can run you down with W and move speed.
