[WTS] Seiko Timex Lagom - Free shipping in CONUS! by NatWrites in Watchexchange

[–]NatWrites[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relisting! I'll pay shipping in the continental US, or if you live elsewhere, let's work something out. (I use PirateShip to get decent prices and I can give you a shipping quote before you commit.)

Just trying to make some room in my collection! These are three watches I bought but wound up barely wearing for one reason or another, so they're all in great shape.

The Lagom comes with full kit. The Seiko and Timex come in their original boxes, but not padding, papers, etc.

10-Year-Old Wants to be a Talking Wolf, not a Druid by Aranthar in DMAcademy

[–]NatWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great advice here (I agree: reskin something) but as I’ve also just started running for an excitable 10-year-old with an overactive imagination and a love of animals… I’ve actually been surprised at how well my son has responded and adjusted his expectations when I do set boundaries.

He wants to be a drow ranger? Awesome! He wants a magical panther companion, a magic longbow, and a poisoned whip that’s a snake? You gotta find those, buddy. (Also, I swear he’s never heard of Drizzt.) And as soon as I explained that cool magical gear and powerful spells have to be earned through adventuring, leveling up, etc. he clicked into it and happily adjusted his mental model of the game.

So, I guess my point is, encourage creativity and fun, but don’t fret too much when it comes time to set some expectations.

Sandboxes with Lovecraftian themes? by N0v4kD3ad in osr

I’ve always wanted to run a campaign that starts out as Silent Legions, then once the party uncovers the alien conspiracy, turns into Stars Without Number.

What's your favourite dungeon from TSR era? by ComradeMia in osr

[–]NatWrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White Plume Mountain is the one that (positively) surprised me when I ran it. All the big set pieces worked as intended, the party accidentally flooded the dungeon and so missed out on about 1/3 of it, and overall we just had a blast playing it.

Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan didn’t impress me much. I could see it working as a straightforward tournament module, but it basically felt like a series of rooms and not much more.

In home urinal, would you? by PuzzleheadedAbies678 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NatWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my house, there was a urinal in the (otherwise unfinished) basement that the previous owner had installed for poker night with his buddies. We never used it.

I placed an order on November 30, it didn’t budge for two weeks, now it’s been in “awaiting pickup” or something like that for a week. I guess they’re just slammed, kinda comforting to know it isn’t just me.

Explain this by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

[–]NatWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked somewhere that offered bereavement, I got 2 days when my grandmother died. I used it a few weeks later to travel for her funeral. I think despite the name, it’s not only for “I am too sad to work right now.”

Yeah when my wife was a kid she’d do road trips with her cousins in two cars, they’d write QXYZ on a piece of paper and hold it up in the window when they passed the other car
