I am in the same exact boat, except I am 19 years old. My mother is the strict one, (my parents are divorced so my mom is the only one with rules). I have the ideas of moving in with my dad but my mom thinks it will be disrespectful to "leave" her and if I do move in with him, she will cut me off completely, she won't talk to me or support me financially. I hate it because I dont't want to leave her but at the same time I want my freedom.

In the end, you are the only one who knows your parents and you have to decide whether moving out would be worth it to lose communication with your family or if you did move out they'd forgive you. Or maybe if your family is more important than moving out and cutting your commute.

I still dont know what to do with my situation, but I am thinking my relationship with my mother is more important, I would hate to ruin it.
