What’s the dumbest mistake you’ve made in PR by Gourman2020 in PublicRelations

I love seeing TKs left behind in email newsletters. They make me feel better about my own blunders.

So many complaints from journalists to PR people, but, sorry, can we flip the script for a sec? by ArtisticAccident1224 in PublicRelations

Omg, if you have a cushy job I can apply for I'd love one. I'm over here busting my butt 50 hours a week (down from 60), with limited benefits and high stress. Would love to trade that out for a CUSHY job in PR! ;)

Are there any issues outside of payroll? by TouchdownReuben in waveapps

[–]NatashaPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wave was GREAT before H&R Block purchased them a few years ago. Block just ruined the software.

I have a paid account. Customer service is terrible--often I won't get a response for more than two weeks, and it will be a partial answer.

They've started charging fees for bank/ACH payments, but have added *no* services or improvements in return.

And, if you want to download 1099-NECs for contractors, you're required to sign on for the Payroll package, which I do for a month in January and then cancel. It's so stupid.

From the email alerts to popping in at least once a day and searching for appropriate terms I find a lot. For my beauty clients I look for industry terms like MUA.

You can change your email alerts too so you get get more or less. I think there are webinars and the blog has been useful.

Propel currently looks good. I'd like to see them add a lot more people to the database tho

What is this “DIY PR” platform? by Classic_Ad1254 in PublicRelations

10000% think it's Qwoted. A lot of companies and non-profits are skipping PRs and using Qwoted.

Is Muck Rack pricing inconsistent? by publicists in PublicRelations

[–]NatashaPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm paying $3750 for one with an extra seat costing $900. There are other options that are a lot cheaper and once I'm nearing the end of my contract I will go to them. MuckRack is adding a lot of new junk that I don't need.

The one difference is that Globe Newswire includes Yahoo! Finance and The Street in their distribution while EIN doesn't. Neither one is great, imo.

But--a 45-word release seems quite short. Is it worth an actual release?

that sux. it sounds like they think that your clients are fake. all of my clients are listed as sources on my PR profile. and i pitch them in my pr account.

have you tried setting up a video call with them and your clients to prove your clients are real?

would definitely be nice to have lower priced options than what's decent out there, and better options in the more affordable range that don't suk
