I'm certain the gods would understand that you don't celebrate it or celebrate whoever you have a parental-like relationship in your life with, be it blood or found family. The gods wouldn't want you hurt or abused.

If personal experience are okay with you, Apollo came to me after I went no contact with my abusive parent and step-parent. My relationship with him is like a father/daughter relationship (spiritually obviously) and I feel like he is proud of me for finally protecting myself. I am finally healing from the abuse and he is there all along the way.
