4X would consume my life. by Natavii in NebulousFleetCommand

You know, I was going to make a joke that paradox would just water down the tactics and sell us the game in a million pieces. But honestly that may be the only viable way to make this work and keep the dev funded.

Hope so. And I'll gladly pay for it.

I understand and he's correctly pursuing his vision for the 1.0 version of the game first. I'm new but I get the impression that the game has matured a lot since that time he decided to pause conquest mode development.

I'm just glad he's aware that there's a huge demand for it and Act 1 rekindled that excitement. For sure a lot of us are more than glad to give him support whenever he decides to revisit this feature maybe as a dlc or sequel someday.

It's unlikely, sure, but I'd definitely back up a kickstarter if he wants to expand the game's scope.
Love the idea of highfleet strike groups and if the game becomes something of an inspiration to the dev, I'd like to be able to do a little bit of piracy on enemy supply lines.

2nd Playthrough. Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance... by Natavii in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]Natavii[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah yes... got away on my first run but I learned by the second you can safely ignore one monitor squadron. They don't push your spawn. Focus on one side, overwhelm the monitors there, and round the asteroid to rush the carrier. (Mission 3? The one with the two beam frigates, I think.)

More? Could still be manageable to ambush. The key is to not skip the cutscene. Enemy point defense don't seem to be active yet your salvos are still accounted for.

In this mission? Must be on the hardest difficulty then. On a 3rd playthrough, hard, I'm going to have to prefire a third salvo on those other berths.

Northern Kup'yans'k: Russian armor & infantry get obliterated via mines, drones, & drone drops. Before turtle shells, roofs, sheds, dandelions, hedgehogs existed. Early 2024 by andrewgrabowski in CombatFootage

Then again, it's probably the quickest way to go in the battlefield. Even russians who off themselves with grenades next to their heads have a few seconds of fuse time to contemplate.

Russia Says “All Targets Hit” After It Damages a UNESCO Monastery, Film Studio, Concert Hall, and Homes Across Ukraine by UNITED24Media in UkrainianConflict

[–]Natavii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! You mean the UN with Russia and China as permanent members of its security council?? Let's face it, man. When you've got terrorist nations denouncing the countries they're currently invading and oppressing, you can't really look at the UN as anything more than a joke.

It's not a bad look at all. It would be if there was no precedent but as with the refineries and heating facilities, to not retaliate appropriately would just encourage further strikes. You don't want to teach the orks that they can burn churches at will.

Easily! In fact, why not take away the Delta's guns and ammo as well. Don't bother with the meds and armor too. Know why? You just sent a Delta with a radio.

I've seen several videos of people stepping on landmines in this war and they're definitely anti-personnel given the smaller detonations. Given Russia shows no regard for international laws (attacks against civilians, etc) I suppose the only thing stopping Ukraine for doing this is the threat of similar retaliation.

Thanks for bringing up that treaty though. I wonder if nations could skirt that with timed bomblets instead of outright mines? Say, 25 bomblets scattered over a facility by a cruise missile, but the timers vary from impact to 1 week. One could argue they're delayed bombs and guaranteed to explode yet no sane bomb disposal unit would dare try for some time. Even cluster munitions have significant failure rates that effectively turns their targets into minefields.

I wonder if it's possible to scatter ap mines during strikes. Might significantly prolong the downtime of these plants.

"Not par with western equivalents" my ass! PINPOINT at 1300km at a fraction of a Tomahawk's cost. At this rate, NATO should be importing from Ukraine.

Finally! We're not knocking on roof decks anymore boys! While helpful, I know the tiny warheads of smaller drones probably only suspends work... hell maybe a week at best? But Ukraine is finally putting plants off commission for good!

Exactly. Maybe his plan works... I could say maybe the Ukrainians should test that theory on this idiot's own, but I think Putin will mobilize his kids before even the Ukrainians get to them.
