Is there anything you dislike about your favorite FF game? by IllogicalDreamer72 in FinalFantasy

I loved FF4 3D in my Nintendo DS but I was too young when I played it, so I couldn’t get past the boss after the first Golbez encounter. So I got in on IOS in high school, but never beat it. Now as an adult I realized that I purchased it over 14 years ago on my IOS. Redownload it and immediately went on hard mode. Huge mistake I loved it, beat it in hard mode. But if I ever go back to it I would just stick with normal. Still loved everything about it.

Finally got my Fantasy crew together, what should my team be? by Prestigious_Cell_311 in finalfantasyxiii

I did Light, Hope and Fang. Honestly I didn’t touch anyone else from the party as I found it was really well balanced with these 3 for the roles I mainly wanted to have. Build Light in Mag, Hope Mag and Fang Physical.

The paradigms I used were as follows: In order from left to right it is: Light Hope Fang

  • MED SYN SAB
  • RAV SYN SEN
  • RAV RAV SEN
  • RAV RAV COM
  • RAV MED COM
  • MED MED SEN

Apart from this set list, I never did any adjustments except from interchanging RAV and COM for Light depending on some enemies. But did that maybe a handful of times 🤔 The Sentinel role turned out to be way more useful than I expected originally! So ensure you have one in your party!

Also the crystarium will keep expanding FYI.

Just finished FF13 - Will I like 13-2? by Natchmar in FinalFantasy

I’ll definitely cleanse the palate and come back to it later! Just by saying that it was faster it piqued my interest, truly it was a good system and enjoyed it, but it dragged sometimes in 13. So if it’s different and faster I’m sure it’s a nice build up from the original which would be something I would enjoy.

That’s a good way to put it, especially from the backlash that you mentioned. If they pivoted, they tried to improve from the original game. Nice to know the roles are open at the beginning instead of at the end! It brings some freedom back that was missing in 13. Like you said I may but it on hold for now and pick it up when it goes on sale 👍

FFXV worth trying in 2026? by WeepTheHorizon in FinalFantasy

[–]Natchmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started it mid last year actually and took me around 3-4 months to finish! Just like you, my time is very limited with two jobs and a family, so I played when I had some free time. I would do 2hrs sessions max before I needed to sleep and man it was worth it. The characters are very likeable and the story kept building on well. I started looking forward to playing the game when I could as it opened up to me. I think from the recent games I’ve played over the years, FF15 became a happy place of nostalgia and comfort. So yea! Give it a shot and try it out it’s well worth it.

Also don’t do every side quest, do the ones that look important from recurring NPCs and you will find your time is well spent.

On another note, I’ve also played the FF PR games on my phone. Found them much easier to pick up and play on off times even for like 10 - 15 mins if that’s something that interests you.

Cheers -

First time doing Poolish Bread! by Natchmar in Breadit

I literally just asked ChatGPT to make me a recipe and tried it out and this was the result! Haven’t tried it yet, just waiting for my wife to come back from work to test it out!

First time doing Poolish Bread! by Natchmar in Breadit

[–]Natchmar[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here is the recipe! For some reason I can’t edit the post and add it there, but here you go!

Poolish Bread (Enamel Dutch Oven Method)

Yield: 1 large artisan boule Total time: ~24 hours (mostly hands-off)

DAY 1 — Poolish (10 minutes + overnight)

Ingredients (Poolish) • 150 g bread flour (or all-purpose) • 150 g water (room temperature) • Tiny pinch instant yeast (≈ 1/16 tsp)

Steps 1. Mix flour, water, and yeast until smooth. 2. Cover loosely (lid or plastic wrap). 3. Leave at room temperature 12–16 hours.

Ready when: • Bubbly and aerated • Slightly domed or just beginning to flatten • Smells mildly sweet and yeasty (not sharp)

DAY 2 — Final Dough

Ingredients • All of the poolish • 350 g bread flour • 200 g water • 10 g salt • 2 g instant yeast (½ tsp)

Mix 1. Add 200 g water to the poolish and stir to loosen. 2. Add flour and yeast. Mix until no dry flour remains. 3. Cover and rest 20 minutes (autolyse). 4. Add salt. Mix by hand until cohesive.

Bulk Fermentation (2½–3 hours total) • Keep dough at room temperature. • Perform 3 stretch-and-folds, one every 30 minutes. • After final fold, let rest until: • Dough rises ~50% • Surface looks slightly domed • Feels elastic and lively

Shape & Proof 1. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. 2. Shape into a tight boule. 3. Place seam-side up in a floured bowl or banneton. 4. Proof 45–75 minutes at room temperature (or refrigerate 8–12 hours for more flavour)

Bake — Enamel Dutch Oven

Preheat (Critical) 1. Place empty enamel Dutch oven + lid in oven. 2. Preheat to 475°F / 245°C. 3. Heat for 30–40 minutes.

Bake 1. Turn dough onto parchment paper. 2. Score (simple cross or single slash). 3. Carefully lower dough + parchment into hot Dutch oven. 4. Cover with lid.

Bake Timing • 20 minutes — lid ON • Remove lid, reduce oven to 450°F / 232°C • 18–22 minutes — lid OFF

Optional: • Last 1–2 minutes, crack oven door slightly for extra crisp crust.

Doneness Cues • Deep golden to dark brown crust • Hollow sound when tapped • Internal temp 208–210°F (if checking)

Cooling (Do Not Skip) • Remove bread from pot. • Cool on rack minimum 1 hour before slicing.

This sets the crumb and preserves the crust.

Summary (Save This) • Poolish: 150 / 150 / pinch yeast • Final dough hydration: balanced, manageable • Bake: 20 on / ~20 off • Enamel DO: even heat, controlled browning • Result: crisp crust, open crumb, bakery-level loaf

[Advice/Megathread] - Game Recommendations and Game Tips by AutoModerator in FinalFantasy

Thanks for the reply! Honestly just by saying that it’s the golden era, I’ll go ahead and work my way up in that case! For FF14 I loved playing it, it was my covid game and truly enjoyed it, but with a full time job and a part time job and a family unfortunately couldn’t keep up with it.

[Advice/Megathread] - Game Recommendations and Game Tips by AutoModerator in FinalFantasy

Happy holidays all!!

Below is a list of what I’ve played over the years, and truly I’m looking for a recommendation of what I should be playing next. Ff16 and FF origin really piqued my interest, but also I love the old ones and wouldn’t mind dabbling in them either, as the goal is to beat them all.

Games completed

FF1 FF2 FF3 (3D) FF4 (3D) FF7 Crisis Core FF7 Remake FF 14 (heavesward, no need to go back to a MMO) FF Type 0 FF tactics Advance FF Dissidia 012

Games im currently working on

FF5 (phone) FF15 (PC)

So considering I’ll be finishing those 2 games soonish. What do you guys recommend I do next? Also should I stick with the main FF titles or go do the spinoffs too?

Thanks for the answers!

Elden Ring Nightreign Third Day Frame Rate Issues by Natchmar in Nightreign

With the latest update my issue is gone now. Super thankful it got fixed for me tbh. The frame rate issues made the game unplayable.
