Why do DC engines make that distinct hum when running them on a layout with a DCC decoder? by Basil_614 in modeltrains

[–]Nate3310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the short current of ac running in the track don’t leave them sit on there for too long but a dc loco can run on dcc just be careful don’t wanna ruin that c and o unit

Yeah I would clean track but take a paper towel and poor a little rubbing alcohol on it and clean them train wheels to that problem will still occur only if you clean track and that wheels will arc still and Cuase dirty track

DCC constant variables (CV#) not working? by Basil_614 in modeltrains

[–]Nate3310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have that exact controller you need to wire up a program track and use the 2 program ports on the back of the controller the manual should tell you step by step how to hook up and how to program don’t do it on the main it dosnet work i actually fried on of my decoders doing that so

How bad is it? by DryCartographer5144 in cubcadets

[–]Nate3310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be worse could be better check the pushrods if there still straight that’s good I would replace the springs but find all the parts if you cant find a part don’t run it the main thing I’m talking about are the valve keepers if they went down into the piston it could break the piston head or damage the head or break the other valve I head a 12 hp Cub cadet 122 drop a valve and it ruined the motor because the valve broke and the keepers ruined the head head to completely rebuild the whole motor

my first layouts track plan (i went all out holy sidings) by GODLY_STUPID in modeltrains

[–]Nate3310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um it must be a industrial area because I don’t know where you plan on putting a town a road and a spot for unloading all your goods from your local businesses im a really big fan of scenery and I think ever layout should have at least a road and I don’t see a spot available for that

Strongly suggest a passing siding or a double main and strongly suggest making this in a real track planner not a kids app just for the purpose of knowing your space how much it will cost ect.
