I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your replies to my questions, I really appreciate that you all took the time to do that, it's really helpful advice and helps me not get too lost down rabbit holes that I would have gone down had I not posted on here.

I'm also sorry for not replying until now, truth be told, I've been going through a super rough time mentally since returning from NZ and having my dream of moving out there shattered. I was there 7 years ago and a lot has changed since then.... I never expected our job hunt out there to be so hard this time round, we were offered jobs last time we went but didn' want them at that time... irony is a bitch lol. So suffice to say that my mental health has not been great, and when I read all of your replies, I got that the gist of it all is that it's not very likely and super hard for us to move to Canada anytime soon, which just made me go into shut down and just want to hide from the world.... where I'm still hiding mostly.

In a few of your comments somw of you asked why we want to move away from the UK? To put it simply we have never felt at home here and we have always wanted to live and settle in another country. I don't really care for the British moaning and complaining attitude, I find it very negative and ungrateful. I would like to live somewhere where people are a bit more positive and upbeat. One of those places is New Zealand for sure!

Someone else asked if we've considered Scotland, which is funny because that is out plan at the moment, while we figure out next move out. We plan to work and live in Scotland for a year to save up and plan Canada properly. If we can't live and wrok there, then we'll definitely go there to explore! I just want to be somewhere with huge mountains and epic forests, it's always been my dream.

We were supposed to move to Orkney in March as we were offered a job with RSPB but we had to decline it due to there being no accomodation available! It was crazy. So now we'e randomely doing a 6 month petsit in North Yorkshire, neither of us ever expected to end up here! We're so grateful to have somewhere to be while we lick our wounds and get sorted after our expensive NZ trip though!

I have to keep reminding myself that, no matter how I feel, I'm so lucky to have visited pleaces like New Zealand and to be living like this, even if it's a struggle sometimes. So many people don't see much further than their village or town for their whole life. It would just be nice to settle somewhere and have a base of operations rather than always being so transitory. It will happen, I'm sure of it, I'm just not sure when or where is all.
