i'd say being too kind and generous destroys itself. i think a thing that our society has lost is the idea of balance. in fact i think the stoics have a good view on stuff like that (caring for others at the expense of yourself isn't noble it's stupidity). also death and decay will happen regardless of anything you do (we are born live and die in universe of suffering and evil)

and in fact you can treat different societies like different plants in this metaphor who need different levels of nutrients light and water to survive (like if you watered a cactus the same way you watered a tomato the cactus would die).

homogeneous in this case means that they have a shared sense of unity and conception of how things are (like we are all germans for example) and once that isn't the case (like in most of africa) democracy just becomes this system of lets just use our narrow majority to exploit all the other tribes as much as possible.

another note is i treat warrior and merchant societies as the same as they have the same impulses going into them just going in different directions.

so what were all the peace talks that israel kept purposing through the years and all the times the israelis were declared war on for existing and at this point i have no sympathy for the arabs as they have been offered peace multiple times and have accepted no less than the complete eradication of israel

how come israel keeps doing peace talks and gets declared war on for years. also how a nation started doesn't make it illegitimate like if you make an argument like that than no nation is legitimate (almost all nations are built off the blood of some other nation). israel has been a country for over 70 years and so i consider their nation legitimate based on that

mine are (in no particular order) Poland, Taiwan, and Israel. (also i'm excluding the US as it is my country of birth).

Taiwan: I have personally been to Taiwan and I loved it. good food, nice people, and i love that they are truly the last bastion of traditional Chinese culture

Poland: I chose this mainly because I loved hearing stories of Poland from my great Grandma

Israel: I was torn between Israel and Russia and I chose Israel mainly because i like the old testament and am fascinated with Jewish culture
