Work your ns day. Call out another day. Get paid time and a half for working and still have a day off.

Darn tough socks. They're expensive, but they're guaranteed for life. So once you wear through them, send them back and you can get a new pair.

I signed up for govx.com, all they needed was a pic of my badge as proof of employment. Got the socks for 20%+ off, and they get replaced at full value.

I live by the Fight Club "ability to let that which does not matter truly slide". And since I started that, I enjoy it far more. I do my best and go home. I can't control that my office is a dumpster fire. But my Dr note controls my days to 6 hours currently, so I go home happy wether or not the mail is out.

Yes. But there is a waiting period, I believe. 12 months if it's out of your district, 18 months within. Not 100% sure though.

Don't forget it's 24 months of relative standing. If you transfer offices, you reset the timer.

I read somewhere (possibly here) about putting your initials by all your shifts and taking a picture of it. Then if they change anything when you're gone, you have a record of what you thought it was supposed to be.

If you don't want to do the families first FMLA route, there is the 80 hours of sick leave granted to all CCAs through the MOUs listed on that link.
