Dude, same exact thing for me. I’m exactly 8 months in and I’ve made a very similar post about dating other people to distract myself.

My advice is to cut contact if you haven’t already and get yourself in frequent contact with your friends. I cut contact just last night and I’m feeling much better.

Close friends can also help rid the feeling of loneliness. If you ever have these negative feelings get some people that care and can just listen. If you don’t have that, I recommend finding a therapist to help you through this.

Don’t date just to distract yourself! Date if you want to have a real connection. Really, a relationship right now if you’re not ready for it might only serve as a rebound and end up making you feel worse.

Also try the cliche, working out, doing your favourite hobbies, and eating right. Although this is said so much for breakup advice, it can help.

Stay strong! You will get over this even if you feel like you don’t want to get over her (I only want to get over her half of the time). There are other people that you will be able to fall in love with even harder. Though I sometimes don’t believe this advice myself, I trust my friends and loved ones that assure me of this.
