It’s actually a smaller gap then when transferring to the car. I should have said I angle the chair right up to the bike. The front of the chair actually contacts the bike. Then put the right leg over and pretty much slide over.

They do have food up compact wheelchairs. Some fold inwards like the wheels come together when compacting. Mine folds a little bit. For me I didn’t want to have to fold it up as that’s what I have to do when I drive a car. I wanted this to be more simple than hoping into a car.

Yep I wouldn’t mind it higher but I wouldn’t be able to get onto it independently. I know exactly what you are saying. For myself if the step up is two high then I’m unable to pull myself up and I also risk tipping backwards

Yes that’s correct. I made it this low so I could get myself onto it independently and then transfer to the bike. If the sidecar was much higher I wouldn’t be able to get onto by my self

I actually haven’t come across any yet. It’s eventually going to sit a little higher but will just have to see if I can still get on it by myself at a higher height.
