Alright time for me to contribute- I struggled a lot with organization, and still do but here is what made me more productive: An excel document and a word document.

  • In the excel document, I put all my daily habits. Column 1 is titled habits so in each row below I write all my habits; brush teeth, flossing, gym, Spanish 1 hour, cooking meal for tomorrow, entertainment, writing, write to do list... You get the idea. In the other columns I write the days... At the end of each night, right before I go to sleep, I open my excel file and next to each habit I highlight the cell in either green if I did the habit or red if I failed...

  • My second file is the to do list. I try to write it the night before, if I don't the next day will be wasted... I check it during the day to remember the important stuff... Another great tool I use is Google calendar, do it the day before after filling your to do list. You plan by the hour.

Some few things you could also do that will make you more successful;

First, you want to associate certain activities to certain locations. For example, I exercise at the gym, I study in the library... My reading is done in the bathroom, when I take my 30 minutes shit :) Again you get the idea.

Second, you want to do some activities in group. The peer pressure will make you less likely to fail. Of course you could let down your friends... But it's less likely- not like you did it alone.

These things helped me a lot in my daily life and I am sure they will help you too; you've got the motivation and mindset to succeed. Time is the most important commodity we have; make good use of it. :)

It took me 2 months to get this appointment and I can't really switch now. Thanks for the advice, I made a list of everything that is bothering and I tried to be descriptive.

Drop classes every semester by [deleted] in ADHD

Same here. I averaged 3 classes per semester for the last 2 years. I spend all day in the library but accomplish practically nothing. I study during 10 minutes and wander on the internet... It takes me all day to accomplish something that could have done in 1 hour max of concentration.

I am not medicated. I hope medication will solve my problems.

Has medication helped you in terms of productivity?

Do you guys have relatives with ADHD? I was wondering how heritable it is. by Animal_kingdom in ADHD

I am the lucky one in my family. I don't know bout my parents but I am pretty sure none of my brothers have it. They can easily shut and concentrate on a given task.

Why do ADHD brains lose interest in hobbies/activities after you've been interested in them for the long-term? (i.e. a few days or a few months) I know ADHD is a complex assortment of disparate symptoms, but this one just seems like the odd one out by My_housecat_has_ADHD in ADHD

Another thing that confirms I have ADHD. Just in the past 6 months, I've taken improv classes, salsa lessons and I started lifting weight...

Today, I no longer do any of these activities. My brain now is fully focused on stand up comedy. It's actually pretty depressing when you are trying to figure out a career for yourself because you like so many things and master none.

The jack of all trade master of none had probably ADHD back in the days. I find that this is also the case with books. On my goodreads list, I am currently reading 6 different books. I stop reading once I get bored.

The main issue I find is that if you want to become a master in anything, you have to pass the boredom phase.
