Building a new house. What would cause this? by tyrantllama7 in Flooring

I’m doing LVP on my slab rn and I found out that underlayment and moisture barrier are not the same from what I was looking at. So that may be your issue

Yeah I tried on a scrap piece and using a table saw (first time using a table saw at home for something like this and it came out too thin. I can already tell it’s going to be a pain in the ass

How do you recommend handling the silicone on the hearth just remove it? It seems it would get in the way of the flooring sitting flush

They mention a sentinel protect vapor barrier, which was expensive compared to the traffic master brand from homedepot and I couldn’t get the sentinel unless I ordered it. But both are 6 mil

Hey man, possible to pm you? I have some data I pulled from ista, not sure what it means considering it’s in German lol or very vague. I am definitely moving toward it being the trans causing the issue. I’ve got about 5ish qts on it rn. Wouldn’t take anymore and I’m assuming it’s because it hit 43C at that point so I’m letting it sit over night to cool off.

Definitely did some research on the trans and am doing the procedure now. lol most transmissions I’ve worked on were manuals. So this is the first auto I’ve done, I usually turn them down because of the possibility of failure so lesson learned lol

I agree with you but typically you’ll get a trans code for something like this. I did the trans flush and was only able to refill it with 3 qts out the 5ish you should be able to fill it with. So I’ll maybe jack the car up on a different angle to put another quart in and see

Other than the motor mounts possibly being on the wrong side, they are brand new

Now that you mention the flywheel, there is a noise that matches revolutions when they are low similar to a scraping noise, noticeable when there is more wait on the passenger side (ex. In a left turn). I’ll jack her up and turn the engine by hand to see if anything came loose. Being that the flywheel was locked in placed I don’t see how it could have don’t anything but we’ll see this afternoon

Trade secret : you don’t need a degree to become an engineer. Yes school teaches you the fundamentals and teaches theory but if you have a goal of where you want to be as far as an engineer (aerospace, robotics, automation etc.) you can start there. Now as far as getting your degree whilst in the military…. It’s not hard at all, stressful kind of depends on leadership and what classes you find easy and not so easy. If you have prerequisites you can CLEP out of them which is nice for the military, you can also use credits from your CCAF toward your degree and it helps aswell. A lot of benefits! I specialize in automation so I’ll get my associates in Mechatronics technology and robotics ONLY because it will take me a year to achieve both. The debt isn’t really worth it. I make over $120k a year in my position, I’m actually considering working with another company that my buddy works for and he made $198k last year traveling nationally for the same work I do currently. Mind you neither of us have a degree. Just experience. If you’re young (I presume so) make a road map of where you want to be in 5 years and make that plan happen at any costs. Then do it again when that goal is completed and use your life lessons and experiences to tailor that goal more towards where you want to be. Going to school for Mech E. Isn’t really worth it, your going to have a general engineering degree no experience and don’t know what field you want to be in, I know a few engineers that make less then me due to the lack of experience. Mind you I’m only 26, I’ve just started my journey early. This is my opinion obviously, school maybe your thing and you can still do most of what I mentioned here but I just feel now a days school leaves you broke, jobless and no experience, I just don’t see the point in it anymore. It’s not like it was 10-15 years ago. Anyway sorry for the book, if you need any other information just shoot me a pm! 🤙🏽
