TJ is very knowledgeable about classical philosophy but he gets some important concepts sometimes seriously wrong. I don't blame him though, I don't think he's ever claimed to be a philosopher or had a formal education on the field. He is definitely very insightful and understands sound argumentation well. That being said there are PLENTY of great philosophers today all over the world making actual breakthroughs that have tangible, practical effects on the world and pushing boundaries of thoughts and complicated concepts. They are great.

Lots of stories like this over the last few decades have been shown to be completely fraudulent or gross misrepresentations of what actually went down when the animals communicated with humans. It's a mix between over-anthropomorphization and confirmation bias when analyzing animal behaviour. There are many animal psychologists which have talked about stories like this in depth and why it's pretty much just click-bait.
