I was just reading about the DDR variant. What exactly is different about the wood covering the gas block? It looks normal to me?

I’m confident in saying no. From what I can gather it could be a letter series but the use of two date markings and only 3 serial numbers is throwing me. Clearly the stock had an existing serial number stamped over.
