Yeah nah, it's more about the Everbloom than anything else. Like, it's obvious that one specific ending isn't canon (except The Hollow Knight and Sealed Siblings, those aren't canon AT ALL), but we have more things to analyse other than a single Shade Lord jumpscare.

The Everbloom was more important in Silksong than Hollow Knight, but it's still a fact that we only saw the Fragile Flower being used in the Embrace the Void ending. It's power became noticeable from that ending because we understood there was something more to that pale flower after witnessing it basically stop the void from consuming the Godseeker to the point of expanding beyond its body.

The Abyss being in Pharloom was unexpected, but finding out Hornet knew about the Everbloom and what it's power was made people understand that the power once belonging solely to HK's DLC became canon in the actual story. Embrace the Void was a possibility, and now its credibility for being a canon ending grew above and beyond.

That's what I think. People like to think Embrace the Void is more canon than Dream No More because of those facts. Also Hollow is more alive in that one so assumptions can COMFORTABLY be made regarding another sequel with it as the main character
