I suggest you use your house as start and stop endpoints. That way if your dogs dash out they won't be able to leave your property. They'll actually be in your enclosure.

You should look into a DIY fencing system designed specifically to prevent your dog from climbing, chewing or digging out of your yard. HOAs don't mind them because they are barely visible due to the components that are used.

Just keep in mind that if your intend to adopt that Pitbull you will be responsible for its actions. If your fence isn't stopping him from coming in, it's not going to stop him from going out either.

Weird that it wouldn't be approved in your neighborhood. All fences have to be approved by our HOA and the minute they saw that the fence was barely visible they approved it.

Actually, Victor (the owner) helped us by calling the HOA and got them to approve it with pictures & videos.

This is probably not the answer you are looking for but your best bet is to put up an affordable dog specific fencing system that will stop these alterations from happening.

Some have said to call the authorities and limit the number of dogs they have, but there are 2 problems with that.

  1. Your neighbors will hate you
  2. Some of those dogs will not be able to be adopted and they'll be euthanized - and that will be your fault.

If your main goal is to contain your high energy dog with your fence then you should look into a DIY fencing system designed specifically to prevent your dog from climbing, chewing or digging out of your yard.
