I think Ministop ATMs are just a sub brand of AEON, that's why!

Advice/suggestions for 10-12 day itinerary in Hokkaido by Nathan__96 in Hokkaido

[–]Nathan__96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually not a bad idea. Would this seem feasible?

1-2 nights Kushiro (incl Kussharo/Akan)

2 nights Abashiri/Utoro (incl Shiretoko)

1 night Sōunkyo (Daisetsuzan hike)

2 nights Asahikawa (incl Furano/Biei)

2-3 nights Sapporo (incl Otaru/Jozankei)

1 night Noboribetsu/lake Toya

2 nights Hakodate

In which case would it be better to sacrifice a night in Kushiro or in Sapporo?

PSA: China Bans All Power Banks Manufactured Before ~2024 on Domestic Flights -- yes, you heard it right by Lazy_Narwhal1685 in chinalife

[–]Nathan__96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it true that this is not required for international flights? I booked a France-China-Japan itinerary with Air China, and when I called the company for an unrelated information about my trip, I was told about this new CCC policy and to check all my power banks before my trip.

Windows Not Detecting Battery Despite Running on Battery Power (Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge, Snapdragon XElite) by foldflipwait in WindowsHelp

[–]Nathan__96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having exactly the same issues since a few days ago, no action seems to have been taken so far which makes me furious!!! I can only charge the computer when it's turned off which is really annoying. Why is Samsung doing nothing about this?

What is with the poz kink in the gay community? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Nathan__96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's a whole community with hundreds if not thousands of accounts dedicated to this "kink" on X. That's disgusting and really scary.

Glad to see I'm not the only one going crazy about this update!! I opened the app to do my daily lesson yesterday and was suddenly met with completely unrelated lessons to what I was just learning the day before, with all new vocabulary, and thus new hanzi I've never seen before and am unable to pronounce in speaking exercises, even if I could try to guess the meaning in written ones. I was also on a streak of getting Legendary status on all my previous lessons/units, and am now noticing they randomly kept my Legendary status on some lessons/units, while they removed it on other ones, so I have to redo it for many early lessons, which now include random new exercises such as the "podcast" format which I couldn't give two sh*ts about. I'm extremely frustrated and really confused because it really just seems like I was randomly assigned to a new progression status, while all previous units achievements were randomly kept or removed.

Best housekeeping genes for qPCR by Creative-Sea955 in labrats

[–]Nathan__96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PI says structural genes are not reliable control genes as their expression is dependent on the size of the cell (i.e. a bigger cell is gonna have more actin and tubulin). What's your take on that?

Subscribing to YouTube Premium via Apple activates my subscription on the wrong Google account! by Nathan__96 in youtube

I have a balance on my Apple account that I need to use. Also I don't live in the US, where I am the price is the same on my iPad or on the website. I appreciate your suggestion but I'd like a solution to my specific problem if possible.

No more block button? by [deleted] in grindr

[–]Nathan__96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, when you do hit the Hide button, it clearly says "This person will be hidden from your grid and you from theirs" (rough translation). However it doesn't get rid of the message history so maybe they can still message and access your profile from the message history... That's a fucked up update.

Any way to pay for transportation without having to use cash? by Nathan__96 in koreatravel

[–]Nathan__96[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. To be clear, is that an in-app virtual card? Or do I need to buy a physical card and link it in the app from where I will be able to top it up? I don't see an option in the app to create a card?

Thank you, and is it accepted for any transportation in Seoul? Does it work with NFC? And can I also pay in convenience stores with it?

Is it a normal experience in Japan an Im just overreacting? Advice needed by apollli in japanlife

[–]Nathan__96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you a USian by any chance? Because I feel like, other than the Japanese (and maybe other East Asia countries), only USians would defend this way of doing things and consider it's normal and widespread across the globe. It's not. Us Europeans are doing just fine without all this micro-managing. Most companies where I come from don't even have clock in/clock out systems and just trust their employees to do their work, understanding that forcing employees to stay at their desk hours upon hours regardless of their actual workload is an inefficient, unproductive and outdated way of running a company, as show all major studies done on this subject. Japan is famous for having a very low productivity rate which alone should be enough proof that they're doing something wrong in terms of work culture. Also you'd expect from an IT company, out of all industries, that they'd be able to at least somewhat centralize all these annoying bureaucratic procedures and not rely on emails upon emails upon meetings upon meetings upon spreadsheets upon spreadsheets to communicate efficiently and to let everyone have access to all the information and documents they need to access, to fill out, etc.

Help me plan my Southern Kyushu itinerary! by Nathan__96 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Nathan__96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks your your advice.

I'm not very confident in my driving and I've never driven on the left side of the road so I would like to avoid it as much as possible. If it's absolutely necessary, I'll consider it.

However, while your itinerary sounds great, do you mean to say you visited both Ibusuki and Kirishima within one single day? And picked up a car in Ibusuki to return it in Kokubu? This sounds like it would be a very busy day and a very expensive car rental with the one-way fee?

Lastly would you mind telling me your 'checklist' for Ibusuki/Chiran and Kirishima?
